First Half
Watched the first half on ESPN3. We should probably be down by more points but USA's field goal and red zone offense is a gamble like ours.
We are very young and it takes us a while to get into the flow of the game. Usually this means we are playing from behind.
South Alabama came in very physical and aggressive tonight, almost too much so as it has now cost them the use of a linebacker for the rest of the game because of a cheap shot. They have beaten us on the line of scrimmage all night and that is the difference in this game. We are not very physical, and we play very soft on defense. Early in the half we had too many dropped passes, and missed several open long routes due to overthrowing.
We had 8 possessions and had opportunities for two scores and got one. They had seven possessions and had opportunities to score on all but one. It feels fortunate to not be down by more than 13 points. It will be interesting to see what adjustments we make during the break.

Re: First Half
This team will be fortunate to win another game this year. I wouldn't pencil in Liberty or Idaho as victories. I thought we were supposed to see progress every week. If anything it doesn't appear the team did much of anything during the previous ten days.
Same old runs up the middle, penalties..receivers overthrown..
All the humble brag stuff on the CSN boards about the Jags and the cold weather was idiotic too. They're doing just fine.

Re: First Half
I had hoped we would take a step forward tonight.
Sadly, every facet of the game is worse than it was week 1.

Re: First Half
I am normally pretty positive and don't post much. However, this football team and coaching really leaves a lot to be desired. It is almost as if they don't care if they lose, coaches included.

Re: First Half
We are not very well coached. I realize Sat is only in his second year, however, today's performance is totally unacceptable and falls APPsolutely on his shoulders, although he will not admit it! Satterfield is not getting the job done and being a rookie coach is no longer an excuse!! Losing is one thing and I can accept that, as long as we are giving our all. However, we continually show up unprepared and stumble all over ourselves, week after week. We will be lucky to win next week, agreed we are terrible!!sixtoes9134 wrote:I had hoped we would take a step forward tonight.

Re: First Half
I've been an optimist this entire season. Not anymore. This team sucks and isn't getting any better

Re: First Half
I can't believe I drove up here for this. This is the worst App team in 20 years and we're playing in the FBS.
I'm pulling for him but Sat was a shitty hire. We're a lame duck team for the foreseeable future.
Is it basketball season yet?

Re: First Half
What drives me up the wall is the lack of enthusiasm I see in this team.
They seem content with showing up, looking cool, and then losing. I can't stand that sort of attitude. If you have no desire to play to win, then take a walk. This is the worst App team I have ever seen and the team and coaches have no one to blame but themselves.

Re: First Half
Honestly, I am not so sure App wins another game this year. We will be in a dogfight next week with Liberty. Let that sink in for a moment....

Re: First Half
You'd seriously have thought the players would have been pumped to win this one for Coach Moore.

Maybe they all should take a time out and go to the movies.8993 wrote:What drives me up the wall is the lack of enthusiasm I see in this team.

LOL!
Not sure they are able to win for themselves or their current coach, yet.

Re: First Half
I am not so sure we are FCS middle of the pack. I think it is in everyone's best interest to prepare to lose to a Big South team next week.
