WR shakeup for Saturday
Potentially cool news for the WR unit. Rumor is that Shaedon Meadors and Jaylan Barbour will be dressing out on Saturday.
Jaylan was injured at or after Michigan and probably on the fast track for a medical redshirt. Shaedon was slower than some to adopt the offense in fall camp.
This, in my opinion, is great news. It shows Satt knows WR is a huge problem right now and he's doing what he can to improve and win.
It also shows just how weak we are that we have to bring in freshman to supplement the weakness of the Jr and Srs.
As always, I hope all of our guys play well. But I hope even more that our biggest recruit from this class, Shaedon Meadors, can quickly make an impact. By all accounts, he was an absolute steal.

I'm not an authority of 4-star recruits but based on his output I don't think your statement is far-fetched.IGgreer wrote:Is Tacoi Sumler the worst 4 star recruit ever?

I have mixed feelings about pulling shirts from our best two recruits in this class. They will however improve our WR group.

Spot on analysis. Let's hope they can get off the jam It seems odd to take the shirt off after 4 games to me. I don't want to start the rumor mill but something stinks in suburbia,

Dont we have like 8 WR shirting? I could be wrong here but to me it would be smart for some of them to play for experience and to even classes out so in 4 years we don't have to bring in 8 newbies to play right away. I don't know if they will play but having a lot of WR shirt could end up being bad in the "longrun"Saint3333 wrote:I have mixed feelings about pulling shirts from our best two recruits in this class. Reminds me of the quote: "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is today."AppSt94 wrote:Spot on analysis. Let's hope they can get off the jam It seems odd to take the shirt off after 4 games to me. I don't want to start the rumor mill but something stinks in suburbia,
Tough decision but desperate times call for desperate measures. I'm okay with this move if it helps us win some games. That should be true for everyone.

Re: WR shakeup for Saturday
I agree with that but i would have liked to let them play the whole year, not after 5 games.
We were redshirting five WRs, if this is true it will only be three.
Lewis and McGuire have seen action and I count Cathey as a RB.

Does anyone know if Matics the Kicker is healthy now? I don't know how none of the others are so bad they can't pass him. Also why was Critcher doing rugby type punts when he is clearly good at normal punting? Also please have players not wear ear rings on the sideline and can someone PLEASE find the new strength coach a Polo at least over a t-shirt he has been in. Picky details but they reflect on the program.

I am ready to put anybody who can help on the field. If we sink much lower its going to be really had to recover. I was never a fan of "playing for the future".

NOPE!!!! Believe coach is mad because this is Tacoi's last year at App. He is a junior on the football team, but senior when it comes to classes. He isn't coming back next year to play. This is his last year on the team.

I dn't think we are going to recover until we have 85 FBS players on the roster.MJ1988 wrote:I am ready to put anybody who can help on the field. If we sink much lower its going to be really had to recover. I was never a fan of "playing for the future".

Ah, yes. The old "Coach is out to get me" excuse. Lovely.AppState89 wrote:IGgreer wrote:Is Tacoi Sumler the worst 4 star recruit ever?

Re: WR shakeup for Saturday
I saw 5ish deep plays to wide open receivers this past weekend that would have dramatically changed the outcome of the game.... were they too slow? I just assumed the balls were overthrown.
