Up next....The Stink!!!!!

Unread post by Snwbrdro » Sun Oct 28, 2012 7:23 am

GSU gonna be fired up for this one after losing last year as #1. Gotta score early and often to give our D cushion. Need to get miller and price established early. Both played really well today and the WRs as a whole were 1000% better. Go deep early and try to catch them sleeping. As evidence today, they can be scored on but can score as well. GO GET THE EAGLES!!! GO APPS!!!

I'll probably have to be silent most of the week on this one because I really ain't feeling it. To use an old Barry Switzer-ism, I think they could very easily hang half-a-hundred on us, and will do more if they can. This just is not a good matchup for us. We have shown absolutely no ability to slow the TO and the Stink does it with better athletes than the other two TO teams that have shoved it down our throats. Our shaky offensive line against their strong D is another bad matchup. I want to be wrong about this because nothing is worse than losing to the Gumroots in Gnatsboro, but I do not see one favorable matchup for us on Saturday.

They could hang half a hundred on us in the first half. Gotta bad feeling about this one...

I am liking the match up of Sam Martin versus the stink's punter & KO man. Let's hope it's a lot of Sam Martin KOs out the back of the end zone instead of a bunch of 60 yard punts. But either way, I am counting on Sam to win his match up. :)

I don't think they are going ot hang 50 on us, we still have the best athletes and probably the best overall talent in the SC. Having said that, the way we played against Cit and Wofford, makes me think they will put up atleast 28. I think our backs are against the wall, and we will play better, but its going to be tough to win the game. I hope somehow, we do win, I have read a few comments from GS fans, they are pretty much expecting to blow us off the field by halftime. Like to shut them up

I think we have a decent shot at this game. It will be the third time we have seen the triple option this year, which should help quite a bit.

For us to be successful against GSU we HAVE to get out to an early BIG lead (14+ points) and force them to go away from their "run it down our throats" gameplan. Our defense will have to stop them early for us to get that lead. Without the above senario, I don't see us going toe-to-toe with them and winning.

Swope did not play Saturday against Chattanooga - reportedly due to a concussion. I'm not sure what his status is for this week.

Their coach indicated that Swope "should" be ready by next Saturday.

I cannot imagine that we can come out of Statesboro with a win with all of our injuries and youth. Thankfully, logic doesn't show up at tons of games each year. I'm looking forward to my first trip to GaSo and hope to be cheering all the way home to Asheville Saturday night.

I have not doubt that GSU is the favorite in this game, but I'm not quite ready to forfeit just yet. Yes, they have outstanding athletes, but they also tend to be very ground oriented. Did they throw a pass against Chattanooga Saturday? Maybe....but ZERO the previous week. I don't think Wofford rolled us. We defended their TO pretty well for most of the game. We lost that game because we didn't execute!

It's going to be a tough one Saturday, but I'm looking for the Apps to step up.

Just because a fan of a school expects to beat you by 50 every years does not mean they believe they will beat you by 50 each and every year. It has nothing to do with being grounded. It has everything to do with getting into Ya'll goat lovin minds.

Offense is going to have to win this one for us. Scott's going to have to open up the playbook and we'll have to score every chance we get. They may hang 50 on us but we could very well hang 50+ on them as well. Huesman ran for 170 yards so I'd like to think Jackson and/or Miller could do so as well. We can win this game but it will a monumental task. I'm hoping this is the game where we put it all together.

We throw as needed. In fact, one of ESPN's top ten plays this week was one of OUR pass plays against Chatty.
I think going into this game both teams are pretty banged up. Swope should be ready, Wilcox and Russell are banged up. I don't know their status yet, but if they are breathing, they'll play. Izzy Youyoute and Jerrick Mckinnon are a 1-2 punch at QB. Both have gotten progressively better this year and if 1 is struggling, expect to see the other. Kicking is an adventure for us and may very well cost us this game. We just can't seem to make a field goal whe we have to. As far as motivation, payback and winning the SoCon are the motivation this week, and the crowd will be electric. One thing about the matchup: App/GSU is just like the GA/FL game. You can throw rankings and records out the window because this will be a slobber knocker. GATA Eagles!!
