Thank you Appalachian State Football team for bringing another SOCON title to Boone.

Thank you for the blood, sweat and tears you have put in since August 3 so us fans/Alumni can be proud of our University.

I, my wife, my parents, my wife's parents and hopefully soon, my 17 year old daughter (waiting for acceptance) are/will be Appalachian Alumni.

Again, thank you for working so hard to make us Alumni proud and have something to brag about.

Get well, play your arses off in December.

Who would have thought, after all the offseason problems, the injuries and suspensions before and during the season, and especially after the El Cid game that we would have another SoCon title. This team has come back from adversity time and time again (with a couple of lucky breaks). Now we get two to three weeks to rest up and get everyone as healthy as possible. Hopefully a few more Top 10 teams will drop next week and we can get higher in the polls.

Congrats to the team and coaches!!!

According to the Disturber(Charlotte)If Vermin wins next week,we get top seed,if El Cid wins,it goes to Wooferd. Is this right?

I believe that is correct. If Samford finishes ahead of the Citadel that eliminates Wofford. Then it goes to head to head with us and GSU. Since we
beat them we get the auto bid.

I don't believe that has any effect on the seedings or home play-off games

I got to say that this tie breaker system does confuse me a little. I believe what this means is that we would essentially have the tie breaker all wrapped up if we would have lost to Western instead of Citadel. It would have rewarded us for lossing to the worse team in the conference. Am I missing something?

What a great way to end the regular season. I have a short subscription to GoASUTV and was able to watch the Furman game. I was also in Boone for the game with The Citadel and after that loss I really thought it might be a long season for App State. It wasn't all that long ago Coach Moore and his staff were saying the SoCon Championship was probably gone and the goal was now to make the playoffs. The team did much more than that. They pulled things together and came out with another conference title. You have to share it wil Ga. Southern and Wofford but it's still another banner to hang on the stadium - and you folks are running out of room for those things. Time to move to the MAC. Best of luck in the playoffs.

Well said. I agree with you.

I remember most of us were going to be happy with a 7-4 record with the young team we have.

Most thought we would get beat by Montana and Ga Southern. We won both and lost to El Cid.

With a 8-3 record with our young team, we should be hard to beat next year with a more experienced team.

Quote from Jamal ---

“This feels good because we had a lot of bumps in the road and a lot of naysayers who said we couldn’t do it,” said quarterback Jamal Jackson, who proudly lugged the SoCon trophy afterward. “But we’re not satisfied with this. We’ve got (potentially) four more games to go to get to the ultimate goal (national title).”
