Let me start by saying Clemson has more talent and should get the win. In 2011 Nate Woody's Wofford(8-4) Defense held Clemson(10-4) to 35 points. I realize the players at Clemson along with the OC are gone. I'm excited to see what Nate can do with our 2015 Mountaineer defense against Clemson. Ultimately the game is played on the field 11 against 11 and I'm feeling good about App! They may not come away with the win but I think App will make them work for it.
Beat Clemson!!!

It is not a jab, since that is how they pronounce it.

I really hope App goes out and plays a good mistake free game Saturday. Since 2007 we have been blasted when we have played top tier teams. I don't know if we have been intimidated or what but our track record against the big boys has not been good. I want to see us compete and make the game respectable. A win would be awesome but just staying in the game and not getting blown out will do wonders for this team mentally I think. If we as fans and this team look back at this game in November and we lost in a close game i think this could be our only loss. If we go Saturday and get beat down that could be a turning point that in November we look back and are fighting to be bowl eligible. This game mentally is very important to ASU in my opinion for the rest of the year. We will not see a team this talented the rest of the year!

Like you I believe the matchup to keep an eye on is your WR vs our DB. I feel pretty good about our starters, but we have virtually no depth at CB. Our best backup is a true freshman. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of our SS move over to CB some as he started out there when he first came to App.DeathValleyTiger wrote:Anxious to see how this plays out. I think most Clemson fans know App State will be a MUCH stiffer test than what we saw Saturday in Wofford. The only real challenge Wofford presented was from an offensive schematic standpoint. App on the other hand has the athletes to challenge Clemson.
It is my understanding (read on a Clemson site) App likes to play some Cover0/1? If so I am curious to see 1. how our line handles the blitz (True Freshman LT) 2. How App DB's match up against our WR's.
I think if APP can sustain long drives you have a chance to wear on our D. Talent certainly isn't an issue with our first team but behind the starters there is a decent gap in experience. Establishing the run would go a long way in allowing y'all to setup the passing game.
I also want to see how well we can run the ball against your front 7 which has a lot of new faces. Our success will depend on controlling the ball and keeping those WR of yours o the sidelines.
