APP STATE / WYOMING WX TREND #6

Unread post by WXAPP » Sat Oct 03, 2015 1:37 am

2:30 AM and I'm looking at data and current radar trends. Something we call the High Resolution Rapid Refresh model (HRRR), now in play. Let me be clear, rain, with some hope of less rain. Based on the HRRR, rain is going to be steady, run from light, to moderate to heavy at times. Given what has set up here in these wee hours, that upper level system stationary, we'll need some Mountain Magic to have a much lighter rain hand play out.

Stick to the major roads, avoid the shortcuts, and use your best judgement on your personal safety and that of your family and friends. I will admit, I am in process of evaluating as well.

I live in Boone. Right now the rain is pretty heavy, standing water in roads. Travel safely.

If you drive reasonably and take your time getting here is not an issue. Windy in Todd at 4,000 feet....of course its always windy at 4,000ft. I'm seeing periods of little to no rain during the game.

Putting on my last layers as I hear the rain falling as hard as ever. The great thing is that I don't even care about the rain. I'm just thankful this team is awesome enough to make me WANT to come out on a day like this!

Go APP!

Soaked.. but a happy soaked... we caught a few breaks in the rain, but not what I had hoped would show up.

ImageI have a place in Todd, near Wahoos. The New River is very high, maybe a foot more and it's over the bank onto River Rd. Here's a picture of the river where it has completely swallowed a bridge.

That picture was taken on my way back from the game. I have no idea what it looks like now.
