They are top notch. If they are the same crew that did the Alum award videos I will go a step further. I sat there watching the video of the young alum award and was amazed. I have never seen anything better than that on TV. The shots the editing it was fantastic. This is exactly what I am talking about. We can be the best of the best in every aspect of the university if we just use the talent available.hotrod2001 wrote:The audio/video department seems to be stepping up. I would gladly donate radio communications between the band and rhe A/V team to coordinate the music.JTApps1 wrote:This was during a timeout for TV which to me is a great time to play music over the PA. We don't need to keep playing it between plays though. We have poor coordination between the band and PA so why not just let the band play unless there is a TV timeout???APPdiesel wrote:Those saying "down with the piped in music" THIS is what you're taking away by taking away that music. Here are my thoughts:
1. When the band was in the student section, the band fired the students up. There is nothing wrong with occasional piped in music, but save the every play soundtrack for the NBA and NFL. We have a great band that can get the job done.
1A. The music is not the recent the students turn out. They play the same music during basketball season and the Dance Party doesn't show.
2. Move the band back into the home stands. Put them in the corner nearest the old field house and fill the end zone seats (and the existing home student seating) with students.
3. I thought the crowd was good for a Thursday night game. Look at the attendance on any weeknight game (college or Pros), with the exception of MNF and attendance takes a hit. Unfortunately, the second Thursday night game will probably have fewer fans (two nearly back-to-back, weather, not a rival--although it could be a huge conference game)
4. On the East Side, the Shuttle Pick-Up needs to be better organized and the lines need to be away from the stadium exit.
5. Traffic on King Street was easy post game, which was a nice surprise.

WASU93 - agree with everything except moving the band back to the west stands. Where they are is perfect so that the entire stadium can hear them play. When they were in the west stands, the folks above could not hear as all the sound was going the opposite direction.
I do agree with putting a mic on them though. Nothing wrong with that.

Re: Marketing help
Where are our audio/video crew during the game? I follow Clemson football on twitter and they are creating some top notch video for social media and sending out live during the game and they really capture the atmosphere. Videos as simple as 20 seconds of slow motion video of a student waving a rally rag with music. Our video department showed they can put out incredible short videos during pre-season workouts, but those seem to have stopped now that we're in season.
