I've stayed in the Hampton Inn once before. There's a couple good restaurants, including a bbq joint and a sports bar, in walking distance.

We are at the Hampton as well. Is it real BBQ or that Ketchup based spew?
We're booked at the Hampton as well, but I''ll warn you about the bar-b-que, it's Alabama you may wish for the tomato based if they serve the nasty mayonnaise based sauce that seems to be a delicacy down there.
The first mention of BBQ!!!! Ive heard Dreamlands and Some Rib Shack. Where is the best BBQ place to go??

Jubilee Seafood is excellent, but it is a couple of miles from the stadium.

We're staying at the Double Tree downtown Saturday night. I'm not sure yet if we will start driving from Charlotte on Friday or go early Saturday morning.

Since the game is sponsored by Raycom Media, maybe we can impress their executives enough to want to carry some games on their TV stations.

Raycom is owned by ESPN and based in Charlotte. We need a big showing. Another reason i'd rather be in this bowl vs. Godaddy.

Yes, AppMan and I are coming together. Shoot me a PM once you're there if you want to meet up.

FYI Raycom Sports nor Raycom Media are owned by ESPN... Deeply involved with them on ACC stuff, but not owned.

Opps. Thanks for clarifying. Still the right kind of people we want to impress.

I HOPE SO.. I'm going to call down there and see if I can bring Appy Claus (TD Santa's son). I'll get with John (PBR) and see if he is taking his down. We were able to take them to Montana for the semis.

[quote="EastHallApp"]OK, request for you web sleuths - let's see if we can find any more solid indicators on who our opponent will be. (I'm not talking projections, but reports on actual deals in place like McMurphy's tweet).[/quote

looking at the MAC standings it looks like either Ohio U., Toledo or least likely of these Bowling Green

Driving to New Orleans on the 19th. Probably will need to spend the night in Montgomery as I'm tired.....oh wait, there's a football game in a local stadium, and I've gonna have two tickets. Hope my wife understands that I just couldn't make the 11 hour drive all in one day, as she will be flying down there next Thursday. Will have one extra ticket should an App student need one.......

Could it be that these two hotels are reserved for the two participating teams and their fans? I was just wondering if their would be a hotel for the Yosef Club members and/or fans to stay at the team motel and this would be announced later with a Group Rate. Haven't booked my room yet because i was planning on a day trip but now my companion wants to go down on Friday and party with other App fans.
I've got a feeling rooms will open up from MAC fans who cancel after they find out they're headed elsewhere just like many of us will be cancelling rooms in other cities over the coming days if we haven't already!

If it is Dreamland BBQ, its red sauce. They are known for their ribs. Have been to the one in Birmingham - good stuff.
