All Right. That's everyone except Miller and as hapapp said another site is reporting that it's a paperwork problem that will be cleared up. I'm sure we'll find out more this afternoon at the presser and the reception tonight.

I still can't edit pages right now. I have a message into Yosef and hopefully he'll be able to reset me so I can get back to work. Have a lot to do to update the Main Page and all the player pages. I will do that ASAP.

I've been up since yesterday morning and still have a ways to go today but I'm going to take a step back and grab some lunch. I'll still be watching and will post should anything else come up.

Hope everyone enjoyed the morning. Much more to follow I'm sure. :D

GS appears to be looking at switching up their offensive scheme based upon the QB and "WR"s they've brought in this class.

If they continue to run the 3O I feel bad for this guy, he could be have just been recruited as a glorified outside blocker. Good luck to the young man, I hope GS has what they've promised him.

Of all the schools to flip this kid. Is this at all sketchy to anyone?
No, i don't think it's sketchy at all. They've been on him for a while now. He gets to stay in his home state. We recruited him as a DB (projected at safety) and jaja suthin recruited him as a wr.

It's really similar to what happened for us with Noil last year (except for the staying in state thing).
Frankly, I think there is more to the story. But, it is what it is. I'm not regretting the job our coaches did with this class.
No way I think his switch is all about what position he'll play. For one, if his preference was that strong for WR, I think App would have given him a shot there (as we did with Noil, who had never even played WR in high school). For another, who wants to play WR at Georgia Southern? Hope he really loves run blocking.

Is Alexander the surprise? I saw where he had other offers and APP was not mentioned. Also, do you know if he has APP and NC connections?

Speaking of the "staying in-state" v. "going-out-of-state" there has to be an interesting story behind Brody Barrett's recruitment all the way over in *gulp* The OC. How does Barrett leave the blue skies and warm ocean breezes of Orange County, CA for NC's High Country. I like it, but it's a bit of a stunner.

Its already been covered, but he has family in NC and came to the summer camp on his own and wowed the coaches who had no idea who he was

"While visiting family in North Carolina, Brody came to Appalachian State. 'I just fell in love with the school,' recalls Barrett. 'I can not wait to wear the black and gold and be a true Mountaineer.

'The environment is a big part of it. I love how it feels very "wildernessy." It’s different than anything I have down here in Southern California,' says Barrett. 'And I was looking for a place that actually has seasons, and I know for sure that App State definitely has seasons.'”

I dont think it's the only reason (and Noil did play WR in high school), but a reason. We were recruiting him as a DB because of the depth we have at WR. These kids aren't that dumb -- he probably saw the depth we have at WR so he said he wanted to be a DB when he really wanted to be a WR. GaSo then came along, offered him at WR. Again, I am not saying the position is the only reason, but, it could be a factor. I just dont think it's sketchy -- it's not like they just offered him yesterday or something.

Now, could he have waited so long to tell us he is decommiting because of something GaSo said, potentially.

And, let's not forget that Jaja Suthin does throw the ball a lot more under Fritz than the traditional TO.

He's apparently deciding next week, per Twitter. Probably a smart move, no need to rush when your plans get upended at the last minute like that. Hopefully he gets to take a couple of visits.

No. Gerald Morgan was the surprise, at least as far as a signing goes. As I said earlier I had him in my personal notes but picked up on him late (past couple of weeks or so) and hadn't added him to the Main Page. But I will be adding him now.

As for Alexander he was, by all reports, on the radar for a while but we had to play out Thomas, Roth, and Howell first. Norris committed after Howell went to WKU and when Thomas firmed up to FAU on Monday Alexander was next man up. He committed minutes later. Has wanted to come here ever since he visited.

Fritz passed the ball much more at Sam Houston compared to what they ran last year. I believe he is going to slowly move away from the option heavy attack as they get more recruiting classes in.

GSU ranked 125th of 128 in the nation last year in both pass attempts and passing yardage. Air Force and Georgia Tech both threw the ball more often than they did.

I don't think it's necessarily sketchy either. Just don't think it was all about position. I don't think the idea that he misled the App coaches about his preferred position makes sense. Think about it - if he wanted to be at App so badly that he'd do that, why flip somewhere else without even telling them he preferred WR? If that is what happened, then he didn't think the process through very well.

As for Noil, he may have played a little WR in HS, but not much. Justin Stepp himself told me they had little or no WR film on him, but they took a flyer because he had shown good ball skills at safety. And his official bio said he "made (his) mark primarily as a defensive back during prep career," and mentions no receiving stats: http://www.appstatesports.com/ViewArtic ... =209396977
