I'd quit my job today for that gig!
If I was merely a greeter at Wal-Mart, I wouldn't quit my day job to be a lackey whether $100K or not.
Easy to say this on a message board when trying to stick your chest out. I have seen some other posts of yours on here and I have to believe that if you WERE offered such a position you would move mountains to be first in line. I call BS!
I'm waiting for your reply to my humble rebuttal.
Sorry Cline, but I have to work. I have been on this board for a long time, as have you. Even discussed some work items from time to time. I am familiar (from previous posts) with you raising the young man and commend you for it. Simply put, It is real easy to say that when not faced with it. I do believe that, if truly an option, you wouldn't punt as you tried to state.
Not going to go back to specific posts and really not getting into personal finances. I know 100k is not a lot of money in today's age, but come on, you sure have lead some to think that such a stipend would help tremendously. That is all that I will have to say on that matter, getting a little too personal. That is my fault and should not have gone there. My apologies.

App91;
In a nutshell:
1. I have never been a big one concerning money. I have my house and two modest cars paid for and funds set aside for my 4 grandkids' college as well as the little one.
2. Taking a lackey job would go against the grain for me.
3. At this stage of my life, I do not want any full time job for that matter. My time with my kids, grandkids, and the little guy are actually all that I can hope for.
4. I still challenge you to find a post that intimated I was interested in a large income. Sure the lottery or something similar would be great, but since I don't buy tickets, there is fat chance of that. ;)

No hard feelings here. I just think you have me mixed up with some other dude. I pinch every penny I can.

I don't know your situation but I think it's hard for people, especially younger people, to understand that while it's always nice to have more money, more money wouldn't necessarily change their life or make it better. Without that understanding they can't believe the concept that "I wouldn't either eat crow or do any job just because it offers $XXXX in salary". In JM case, I don't think that at 70+ he really cares about what his next job will pay, I don't think he stay because of the money and I don't think a six figure salary would change his life enough to make him do something he didn't want to do, (he's a fb coach and all these other things were just a "means" to coaching). It is hard for them to believe you because they truly haven't come to that understanding within themselves, some never do.

Not wanting to start the whole JM thing again, let's just give him congrats and be glad he coming back.

My sentiments exactly and no way could I have articulated it like you just did. Thanks, M56.

Ran across this .....I know most have seen this before, but just think of all the lives Coach Moore has touched during his coaching career. Some of these kids would be in prison today if it wasn't for Moore and him being a father figure to them more than a coach. This video pretty much sums it up for the players he touched.

It's more than being a football player.

Most coaches aren't anything like Moore. It's all about winning and how much $$$$ :roll: :roll: $$$$ they can make....
