I'd feel good about wagering some cash at Tre Lamb being the coach here soon.
does he know enough coaches to put together a G5 staff? Maybe with his familial connections but bobby never coached above FCS and Tre has never coached above FCS doesn't have a long track record like the JMU coach. I definitely think successful FCS coach is the way to go though.
I'm not saying I endorse the hire, just saying that folks I know in the CFB bubble are dropping his name quite a bit. My guess is he would be interested and he's got some cache so it seems. I'm not opposed to it, he seems hungry
What about success in the transfer portal and in dealing with NIL? Seems like that would be important in any hire going forward. It's no longer just about being able to coach and recruit (which, brings up another question of the ability to attract Georgia/Florida players that have been a part of our program's success)

Not saying that there aren't intangible's, but at this point Tre Lamb's coaching record is similar to where Will Healy was when Charlotte hired him and he hasn't beat a same-level team with a winning record this year.

Lamb doesn't give me Healy vibes. Seems more professional. Taking a step up in competition certainly brings more of a challenge in recruiting. I have gone on record saying that preferably I would like a P5 coordinator, a la a Drinkwitz type, and just be a launchpad school for coaches. But I'm not making the calls. Haha

Do we know if anyone else was interviewed last time? I seem to have Jerry Mack in mind for some reason.

Lamb would , if there is an opening and he is hired , be coaching three different teams in the same stadium, in three consecutive years.
Would he bring Bobby back up the mountain as our 2-point conversion specialist? ;)

Geez, the thought of Will Healy coaching our Mountaineers made me throw up in my mouth a little.

Shall we call it “Club Neer?”

I was there for that one. I could foresee him being involved in some capacity. He knows football.

I’ve got no issue with Lamb. But it would be nice to see him stay with a program long enough to demonstrate he can establish a track record of success >1 year in length.

He'll be in town next Saturday. He's landed as the RB coach for Georgia State.

Well they you go! He'll probably interview at halftime. Who would've figured he would go that route.
And I also hate bye weeks.

My one requirement is the Coach must be a visor wearer.

WCU put up over 800 years of offense against FU today. 650 plus in the air.

He just doesn't impress me. I think it might be more of the same we have experience the past 5 seasons. If we go FCS route, I say look down at Mercer coach. He is currently 8-1 and did well down the mountain as well.
