If this is right it is only a three game series.

The article says "a high percentage" and we'll still have six home games.Yosef10 wrote:You know if we keep 100% of that gate?T-Dog wrote:The game in Charlotte will be an App home game.

I sure do miss games against Elon, WCU, Wofford, ect. Don't you?Saint3333 wrote:Within 10 years of the move App will host Miami, Wake, ECU, Marshall, S. IF the announced series has the game in Boone for the 2021 season, our home schedule will consist of:
ECU
Marshall
Georgia Southern
How. Freakin'. Awesome. Is that?!!?!!
The only thing more impressive than our scheduling since the move is how quickly the team has adjusted on the field.

These dipsh!ts from Pitt County Community College are the most dillusional fans in the Southeast. Not only does their team suck. But outside of the nursing program their degrees are worthless. I've been a hiring manager for 15+ years and I have only found 2 schools that I refuse to hire from: Wichita State and ECU. They're "graduates" are terribly unprepared and even after they've turned 30 are still more interested in getting drunk/smoking pot than they are doing quality work. I've told my children they're allowed to go to any school they want, except ECU. In addition to the reasons above, Pitt County is NC's other armpit, (Fayetteville). As for their football program: thinking they're above playing App is laughable. Your program is in shambles and you're so strung out on crank you think the ACC or Big 12 would be interested in adding your crappy town & school to their conference. But most junkies think they've got their stuff together and it's everyone else with the problem. So celebrate your nursing school and I'll look forward to 4 W's in the coming years, one in front of 75,000 screaming Mountaineer fans.
I say all of this and my own brother went to school there. And I'm excited about the signing of this series, because it's another instate game. Nice work DG!

I lived in the Midwest for a number of years, but have led national sales teams for years so I get them from time to time.

Funny, I refer to Franklin, NC as the armpit of WNC....

A lot can change with both programs by the time this series picks back up around 2021. While I would expect us to crush ECU now, who knows by the time we tee it up against them.

Re: ECU vs APP
I think our fans should try to remain humble. I'm sure there are some who will say playing this series is beneath us. That a program of our stature shouldn't go on the road to play a 3-9 team who finished in last place in the weaker division of a G5 league that went 4-11 in bowl games the past two years.
But hey, we can't expect the big boys to play us if we aren't willing to play the lesser teams ourselves. And who knows, by the time this series comes around, ECU might build themselves into a nice little team. You just never know!

TheMackAttack wrote:If we sign a 2-1-1 there are only a few conditions I would put on it to be considered good for us. First, we're the listed home team so we can invite recruits. Second, we get a favorable split of the money made. Third, we still play six games in Boone that season. If all three of those things happen I think it would be silly of us not to do this series.
Meets all my conditions. I'm a fan.

Both teams will have different players and likely different coaches.

Re: ECU vs APP
I thought about that too, but it could be in lieu of a normal G5 OOC away game in which case it'd be a bit of a financial windfall. I guess we'll find out Tuesday when they have the press conference. Hope the game's not too far into the future, I'm having patience issues already waiting for the UGA game in Sept.EastHallApp wrote:I'm guessing they've updated since you posted:TheMoody1 wrote:"Wednesday, the schools agreed to a three-game series that will include a game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte."

If this is right it is only a three game series.
"Appalachian State and East Carolina have agreed to a football series that will begin at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte and conclude with three on-campus games.
There will be two games in Greenville and one in Boone."
Basically, sounds like we'll be playing the BofA game in lieu of a "money game" at a P5.

Hats off to Doug to inking this deal with ECU. He's been an absolutely dynamite hire for App State and I hope we can continue to keep him around for many many more years!
