Agreed, and anytime you can get a win in Statesboro, it's a good win, no matter how down they are, because they are a rival and "should" be giving us their best shot.

But, they did look awful last night. I felt bad for Ellison, Breida, and BJ a little. Their talent is being wasted.

If they lose the next 2 (Ole Miss and ULL) and are eliminated from bowl consideration I could see Summers making Shuman the starter for the last 3 games which would be a shame for Ellison. That team has too many good players to be that bad on offense.

Scoreboard says otherwise and your negativity is really not a good look.

What a total domination of our closest rival ! Even when 0-10 in the first quarter, we had outgained them by over 100 yards. Marcus and Jalin are a two headed beast to address for every other defense that we face. Shae Meadors continues to gain confidence and that catch over the defender on the sideline comeback was a thing of beauty. Rubino continues to improve. Our oline was dominant the last 2 quarters. Taylor continues to surprise me in a good way. Ran really well last night.
Our D deserves their own paragraph. Well oiled machine that just needs a little fine tuning from time to time. I don't know who to be more impressed by - Front 7 or secondary, take your pick (pun intended) . :D On to Texas State. Let's finish strong !

I get it, I think every game can be looked at for improvements. I tend to spin it as , even with the mistakes , the team dominated a rival at their place. We had a lot of positives to come out of the game. Meadors really shined. The defense was spot on. Cox and Moore did their thing. I think Rubino is looking very solid from inside 40 yards. Injured players from earlier this year are making their way back on the field. We are 6-2 and still have not played the perfect game yet.

Like the original poster said "Great win for the boys!!"

They did for 2.5, maybe three quarters. By the fourth their D was gassed from spending basically the whole second half on the field, and the dam pretty much broke at that point.

Losing the next two would make them 4-6, still not out of bowl consideration, and the following game is Ga. State, which I would think might get some extra emphasis given how poorly their last three rivalry games have gone. If they fall to 4-7, maybe Shuman starts the last game. But I don't think Summers can assume too much patience from that fanbase.

Especially when he wants to get away from running first. That doesn't sit well in Gnatsboro.

I wouldn't swap our linebackers for any other school's in the nation. Great job Dale Jones!

I thought Stringer had a great game, especially, as well as Duck.

It had been mentioned that we were the fastest defense in the SunBelt sideline to sideline and it really showed last night. Seemed like there were always 5-7 guys wherever the ball went.

I haven't seen ULL the last couple weeks, but I assume that GS vs ULL winner is the one that scores on Defense/Special Teams.

I wonder what the other teams are saying about App right now...Since we've joined the Sun Belt I believe overall we have been the most dominant team.

You would be correct, though it's close. Since 2014:

App State 17-3
stAte 15-3
GS 17-4
ULL 12-8
Troy 10-10
USA 8-12
TX State 7-12
Ga. State 6-13
Idaho 6-14
ULM 5-14
NM State 5-15

Of course we lost our first two, so we're 17-1 since then.

I don't think I've seen it mentioned but perhaps one of the best plays in the game (IMO) was the last second option pitch from TL to I believe Cox on 4th down. That was pretty

My guess is they are saying, "Wait 'til basketball and baseball season."

My hope is that they won't even be able to say that for much longer.
