The interesting thing is that his stat line wasn't all that different than it has been for his career. 63% completion rate is comparable to his career average. His passing yardage was comparable to his career average. Funny how perception changes based on a win versus a loss.

He ran the ball well yesterday also. He had a couple drops as well. Overall I thought he looked really good. I liked the play calling yesterday as well. I guess one could argue the the competition allowed us to do more but two back sets, designed QB runs, misdirection stuff, reverse etc. All these things made for a more enjoyable game for the fan.

If someone really wanted to break down TL's or any QB's numbers they might want to factor in drops and otherwise catchable balls and a big factor- weather conditions. I know of at least a few games in the past couple of years that have been played in less than ideal conditions conducive for throwing a ball- ODU last year, games that included significant wind and at least another in driving rain.

By no means do I wish to see another back and forth debate about Taylor but all stats aren't cut and dried.

I agree with you in all of your points. My point was that we always seem to have threads like the other one after a loss. We had one calling to start Lamb over Bryant after the Michigan loss. We had a Start Jackson over DP that started after a loss to Wofford. Stats are the great equalizer between past performance and future outcomes. It seems convenient to blame the root cause of a perceived problem on one piece of the machine.

All Lamb does is win! Not a bad reputation.

Stats were slightly better, but you could see more consistency with his spiral and just looked more confident.

He played well against a sub-500 team like he always does. No one is saying he's not a good quarterback.

Dude seriously? He can't help the record of the opponents and he doesn't play against anyone by himself. Any QB needs to be graded against level of opponent. All factors need to be considered. Is it at all fair to judge TL by the Miami game? No way. That baby was over too early. Better execution by ST and defense and we win the other two games this year. That being said there ain't too many other losses on his resume.

Lamb looked like a man on a mission this week. Things that I had constructively criticized looked much better. I hope he continues to mature and grow as a QB and next season could be special.

I would also like to say that Scott Satterfield and our two marquee running backs deserve a lot of kudo's. To be able to work an offense that gives both backs the opportunity to gain over 100 yards per game (plus the QB) is awesome to watch. Loved the 2 back sets this week. Marcus and Jalen are both supportive of each other and when both are in there-whew...

No one ever donning our Black and Gold has been close to AE in awareness and decision making except Dexter Coakley.

And I would add Corey Lynch from the defensive side ---

I do recall that he is now second in all time passing TD'S, he accounted for over 300 yards of total offense Saturday, and BTW he lost 61% of the output from last years team.

How can we ask for anything more than we get from this guy?

I don't get why this is even up for discussion. He's a top 10 G5 quarterback, strong arm or not.
