Really?

Though that call created a 14 point turnaround. Quite frankly GSU played them pretty even for a half and could have led at the half. I can only imagine our fans reaction to a call on the goal line like that one.

Georgia did gash them thru the air though and it was just a matter of time before they took control.

WOW.
Not sure if you are mis-interpreting my statement or what prompted the "WOW". My comment about being "on our way next year" was not intended to say that if we stop Gurley, we beat Georgia. I was saying that if we slow down Gurley, our defense is going to have a good year. Stopping these stud athletes has been a problem at times for our D. Of course, with the game being in Nov, we should already know what kind of D we have.

GSU played well for a half. Their offense did surprisingly well, and Gurley had a good game, but didn't run wild as much as I thought. Of course, Georgia decided to exploit the passing game, so it's just a matter of picking the poison. I'm not saying we're going to role Georgia. I'm just saying that Gurley is by far the best RB that we'll see next year. Since I will be at the game wearing Black and Gold, and I'll be going with my Uncle and Cousin (both UGA alums), I want us to play tough. Winning is a HUGE long shot, but I think we can score some points and make it a respectable showing. Of course, I would always love a win...just not counting on it.

Are we playing Georgia first game or one of these late season deals. I really don't like these late season money games. If we play them out of the gate, there's always the chance they may not be 100 % ready. If this was the Georgia of 3 or 4 years ago, it could be a game, but Georgia's back on a roll these days. All I know is, after 29 years in exile down here in this $#!%-hole of a state, I will finally attend my first game in Athens next year!

I'm waiting for a repeat defense of our 2006 team, too. Our defense will have to replace Kimbrough - which won't happen, Wray,Grier, and Sanders as well. Not certain we have these caliber on our roster at the moment, if we do I have seen 'em yet. Maybe we get some JUCOs? For the last decade we've enjoyed the best LBs in the FCS, please somebody step up.

BlackSaturday,
That's a completely valid concern. The D is definitely our question mark for next year. I think the line will be improved (both offense and defense) and I do think we have some good young talent, but replacing those LB's is tough at best. I would say that JUCO transfers would be a good idea, but honestly, we haven't had many transfers that stepped in and performed without some time.
