I like our draw also. I would rather be placed where we are than where GSU is slated with the 5th seed. We can make a playoff run if we play well. It would be great to win 2 games and have Montana St upset early.

I honestly think it is wide open.....

I was hoping Charlie could get us a little closer to home but.....I do not think the West is Unbeatable!

We will get a good idea about how good ND St. is when we play Illinois State.

Gotta win....travel....and hope someone not seeded beats Montana State....then the semi's will be at home because of the bids.....

I started a bracket challenge over at my website. Winner gets a free copy of Mountaineer Magic Vol 2:

That was my exact thought as well. It could have been a lot worse. I'll let GaSo take that 5th seed and we keep our bracket.

These brackets seldom hold true to form. I like the fact that we are well under the radar now since our glory days, APP was not mentioned as a possible dark horse or threat of any kind. EWU was picked to win our bracket by the hosts. Hopefully the time off has healed us greatly and playing our first game at home will get us on a roll.

We've put some points pretty consistently. I think we can be dangerous in a playoff because of our receiving corps, Miller, and hopefully a fresh JJ. I'll bet ISU isn't thrilled about coming to Boone.

O yea, we are under new management this season, we should have a hungrier attitude.

NDSU is pretty good, imo. How about Wofford as a measuring stick, should they win?

I was thinking the same thing....I like us under the radar and also like Woffy against ND St. if possible!

Its great that we probably will not see either GS or Wofford, but man, we potentially have a long road trip
And Central Arkansas likes to toss the rock as well. I imagine the GSU secondary will be very busy during the playoffs.

Would have preferred UNH but I do think we ended up on the more favorable half of the bracket. Illinois State is no easy draw.

Looks like a tough bracket to me. Not that EWU and MSU can't be beaten, but assuming we can win the first game, we could end up with west coast travel two weekends in a row. There's no place like home.

Just playing what if here, but if we beat Illinois St. and then go win at EWU, I think I would just keep the team out west. Maybe go spend the week in Missoula. I'll bet the Griz would let us use their facilities.

So question.....if we win our first game, is there a chance we could get another home game if teams get upset?

It would take Colgate or Wagner to upset Eastern Washington or Cal Poly to upset Montana State for us to end up with a second home game IMO.

This team seems to play better football on the road so I'm not so sure that this draw is a bad thing.

EWU is the seeded team, the only combination of wins and losses for APP to play the next game at home is for APP to win over ILL St and EWU lose their game to Wagner or Colgate and have made the higher bid for the following week.

Then the following week should App beat our opponent and if Montana State still holds serve, we travel there. Should they lose and we have made the higher bid, the 4th round should be in Boone.

We've had some tough draws during our championship days, but this is potentially more favorable than Wofford or The Gnats got.

BTW, Are the Gumroots complaining about there position?

I am happy that we are on the side of the bracket that we are on. We could have some tuff games, starting with the first on, but we will get to see teams that we don't see year in and year out. GO APP!

Don't forget Gnatsboro is a tough place. I can't remember when they've lost an out of conference game there. Anyone know?

It was mentioned on AGS that they lost to Central Arkansas during BVG years.
