I do realize when CC came to ASU and still maintain that emotional ties aren't a factor with CC, at least that wasn't the case with JM.
I'll also add that getting rid of an icon for an experiement is pretty risky, not to mention the PR gamble.
Don't misunderstand me. I'm not a SS hater, it just doesn't make sense to me that CC would take this hardline approach just to replace a JM with a rookie HC.
I don't see SS as interim coach for a season as another poster suggested/questioned. Getting rid of a JM without having someone/something in place doesn't make sense to me. That adds to the insult to JM in my opinion.
SS put into unusual position - maybe, maybe not

That wasn't my assertion - it seems to be the conventional wisdom among a few on here that he came back because his wife was longing to be close to home. I don't know many career oriented coaches that make such a drastic decision based on that. One of us might - but we don't have the coach's mindset. You take a step back without a plan in place, and you are severely limiting your future income and growth opportunities.

I gotya. Got confused as to who posted what. Now see that kgfish actually made that comment. Scott's wife is from this area but not Wilks County.
