A 41-40 record in the ACC is not unlike the record that Jerry Moore brought into Boone. The question with O'Cain is whether he possesses the "People" skills to build a winning team. I really don't know. Does anyone have actual information about the relationship (respect) he had with his players and coaching staff? Does he have a creative spark that would make him a good game day coach?
Just my opinion, but those are the factors that think we need. A quick look at W's and L's doesn't really mean much without knowing what's underneath.

O'Cain is 60 years old. He also doesn't pass the three main criteria Cobb spelled out on 730 AM in Charlotte last week. A CONNECTION WITH ASU, leadership skills, DEDICATION TO THE SPREAD OFFENSE. After the Capel fiasco Cobb needs a great hire. I just don't see that in O'Caiin.Yosef84 wrote:A 41-40 record in the ACC is not unlike the record that Jerry Moore brought into Boone. Things are different here than they were when Jerry came. We expect more, we have acomplished more.Yosef84 wrote:A 41-40 record in the ACC is not unlike the record that Jerry Moore brought into Boone. No doubt about that. We've come a long way. I'm not an O'Cain advocate. My point was simply that the 41-40 record at state shouldn't be the test. The poster above indicates that he doesn't have the leadership skills that I said were needed. I'm not arguing....simply don't know.bcoach wrote:Things are different here than they were when Jerry came. Personally, I'm a Satterfield fan, but I admit to a sentimental bias.

Re: Mike O'Cain In The Running??
I agree that record should not be the deciding factor. I just don't want to be around when we win less than 8 games. This site will go into orbit. I am a SS guy also but just hope he is ready for the head job.Yosef84 wrote:No doubt about that. We've come a long way. I'm not an O'Cain advocate.
