I agree, but when is the last time App State rushed for 350 and who was the opponent? Their run defense is a concern, but our offensive line is also a concern in certain aspects. We will run a lot, but doubtful enough or have enough big play runs to get to 350.Gonzo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 12:19 pmFrom what I've been reading run defense is their #1 concern for 2018./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 9:59 amIf we rush for 350 against Penn State it's going to be a long season for them. 150 more realistic IMO.Gonzo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 9:30 amSatt says he's going to put ZT through the ringer to prepare him for the starting position and opener. I imagine this means crowd noise through the speakers, maybe running 2's/3's on the O-line against the D-line 1's to simulate a top 10 pass rush.
ZT is a much better athlete with a fraction of the wisdom (at this point) of Lamb. I can see him starting the season with 150 more yards than Taylor Lamb would have in a given game, yet with 1.5 more interceptions. On the whole I see this offense as much more explosive, yet less dependable.
Also keep in mind that our rushing attack is our bread and butter and ZT isn't going to change that. We could have Tom Brady and still rush for 350 against Penn State.

Our overall goal needs to be getting first downs early to avoid 3 and outs offensively. Then avoid the 2nd quarter landslide we had vs Clemson, Miami and UGA.

Huh? I was born in 86. I don't recall playing Virginia Tech in my lifetimeBlack Saturday wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 12:42 pmMaybe it wont be like the VaTech game, that was embarrassing.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 10:29 amPenn State is right where UGA was last year. A great QB in the Armanti mold and the best talent Franklin has had since he took over. Again with all our losses at LB, O-line, and QB I remain hopeful but not optimistic that we will show up that well this weekend.![]()
