I told my wife at the beginning of the game that #21 CB for PSU was a stud and could give us fits..... Hinnegan and the boys did well all game, but that dude showed his ball skills on that last play and just wanted it more than Sutton.

So, did you think that the ball was in Sutton's hands and taken away, or went through his hands?appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Sep 02, 2018 2:04 pmI told my wife at the beginning of the game that #21 CB for PSU was a stud and could give us fits..... Re: Zac Thomas
When watching the replay in slow motion looks like ball was slightly behind Sutton affecting the height of his jump and ball went over his hands into defenders. Zac couldnt lead him more because of other defender coming over

Re: Zac Thomas
What I like about him, and I hope it keeps up after a few mistakes, is his gunslinger mentality. He seems confident and threw the ball with no hesitation and no fear. I like that confidence

Re: Zac Thomas
Not going to fault ZT for the INT. Their CB made a great play. My guess is that Sutton probably feels like he should’ve caught that ball.
Speaking of Sutton, he made quite a statement in his Mountaineer debut.

You know that Taylor has to be really happy for Zac.

Zac Thomas is definitely the Man!!! But I have to give some big props to Derrick for coming in cold off the bench and throwing a perfect pass for the first down! It is a great time to love some App State football!!!!

Sure, room for improvement. First game, and in front of 100k+ howling Yankees at that. Not saying he’s our GOAT, but if you don’t walk away from last night feeling good about just about every position on our team, you might need a nap, a hug, and a Zoloft.
KICK ASS!!!

I wish the throw had been lower, but I thought it hit Sutton in the hands and #21 just took it away as they both high pointed the ball.stafford wrote: ↑Sun Sep 02, 2018 2:15 pmSo, did you think that the ball was in Sutton's hands and taken away, or went through his hands?appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Sep 02, 2018 2:04 pmI told my wife at the beginning of the game that #21 CB for PSU was a stud and could give us fits..... Strong , tough athlete. Well coached. Extremely well prepared. All things considered,I don’t recall a black and gold debut equivalent in all my many years.

Re: Zac Thomas
The throw obviously should have been more to the body, but I thought Zac timed it right and Sutton had it in his hands. I think #21 just made an outstanding play and snagged it out of Suttons hand as they both high pointed the ball. The guy was second team all defense as a freshman. He is a stud.stafford wrote: ↑Sun Sep 02, 2018 2:15 pmSo, did you think that the ball was in Sutton's hands and taken away, or went through his hands?appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Sep 02, 2018 2:04 pmI told my wife at the beginning of the game that #21 CB for PSU was a stud and could give us fits..... Re: Zac Thomas
YES! It was fourth down and his first college snap ever with the game on the line in front of 105K screaming fans...and his pass was absolutely beautiful and kept our drive alive leading to another touchdown...un-freakin'-believable. If we don't get hit with the injury bug like last year we're going to have an awesome year!!

Re: Zac Thomas
There were a couple times on QB runs in the second half where Zac went straight into the contact when it was unavoidable. That was encouraging.
INT was a great defensive play more than anything. PSU dropped into zone on the snap so it was going to be tough.

Re: Zac Thomas
I was really impressed with Zac Thomas. There are a lot of teams that would LOVE to have that guy for the next three years. Cool as a cuke and seemed to continually lay the ball in there exactly where it had to be.
Also that throw made by your backup was about as good of a pinch hit as you'll see in college football coming in cold off of the bench!

Re: Zac Thomas
KUDOS to Zac......I knew he was the real deal but had no idea he could rise to the occasion in his debut.......tough is an understatement!
What I like most beyond his competiveness and besides his abundance of natural physical talent (he has all the tools) is his quick release when it's needed and I'm not talking about a strong arm which he has........his mechanics are good as well especially during his debut time. He has more potential than anything we have ever seen in our program history.....quite possibly even AE.

Re: Zac Thomas
It was an incredible performance all things considered but it was only one game. He's likely to have growing pains and won't perform like this every week. I'm excited to watch his development but not ready to proclaim him the greatest ever.

Re: Zac Thomas
That TD pass he threw to Malik Williams down the left sideline was simply a thing of beauty. Penn State was like WTF just happened?
