Just curious why folks think we would go under center on the first play if we are the receiving team. Isn't that something we would more likely save for a short yardage or red-zone situation?

Running a play under would send a message this is a new coaching staff with very little connection to the past.

Yeah, I can see that but I think there would be a better time to send that message. Just my opinion. Get hit for a loss and the wrong message goes out. I would send the message with a series featuring a new mix of plays (pass heavy) and save the under center for the red zone when it would make sense. Just me though. I'm hardly what anyone would call a creative genius. LOL

Not sure about the first play, but if it is now part of the playbook on offense, I would not mind seeing it with a tune up game like ETSU.

Pretty sure Coach Drink made it clear in his Yosef Tour talks that it would be part of the playbook. I imagine we won't have to wait too long to see it.

I agree with MAD Doc, no more of this defer crap. Take the kickoff, return for TD and set the tone from get go.
