I agree. I’m happy for the win but struggling defensively to a mediocre acc team sucks. Especially considering the state of the acc in football right now. Clemson is it.
Defense started running out of gas a little late but was lights out early. If ZT had put up a good game instead of just an average one by his standards then this game could have been a blowout. We kept giving them chances at the end because our offense was struggling heavily. Luckily, the defense did bail us out at the end. It will be scary when both sides of the ball are hitting on all cylinders.

Now, your comment about the ACC is probably right. The league is mediocre after Clemson. There is Clemson and a huge gap for number 2 and then the bottom 6-8 in the ACC would probably finish 3rd or 4th in the SBC right now.

I think the defense ran out of gas and started cramping because they played their asses off.

Where can Drink's postgame press conference be viewed?

Wow, do I really like our coach!!!! I could watch that 1000 times. The quiet confidence that is apparent in him is great. Just loved hearing him say, "I knew we were going to win". Also at the end, anyone who thinks he doesn't have the outmost respect and confidence in Ted Roof needs to listen to the closing couple of minutes of that post game show and get on board because in Drink we trust.

I don't think our defense struggled at all. They won the game. We had issues with cramps and were playing with quite a few true freshman backups down the stretch. I was actually proud of our defense.

I'm sorry but those of you who are STILL unhappy with the defense after Saturday's game are more concerned about being "right" than about being happy. The anti-Roof stuff is not just ridiculous at this point of analysis (3 games into his tenure) but counter-productive to moving our program forward.
The defense played out of their minds against a P5 team in an incredibly hot situation, and it was the defense that won this game.
If your intention is to discourage potential defensive recruits from coming to App, because of our "poor defensive coaching staff," then keep it up. I'm sure they're checking these boards, as are their families. If your intention is to help the program, then shut the hell up and see how the rest of the season goes before passing judgement and posting nonsense opinions on a public forum based on rumor and innuendo. Let's just all enjoy our amazing season that we're having, support the team and coaches, and see how things go.

It was good that some of our younger players got some meaningful playing time.

I decided to let my curiosity run wild today on the road. I listened to the entire Inside Carolina podcast "the day after" just to see what they were saying. I honestly don't remember 1 time hearing "give them credit" or anything to the tune of that statement. I cannot say I'm surprised but I've never been happier to listen to 3 old men B**** and complain. It was a great ride haha! Beat Coastal!
