That first EZU game years ago was almost the opposite. Every play in the second half they had a guy go down yet we seemed to have none. I found that amazing at the time. Someone needs to get in the way back machine and find out what we were doing that season
Pedialyte.
Staff had the entire team drink Pedialyte about two days before ECU.
That stuff (I think its made for infants, but I really have no idea what its for) worked for us then.

I drink that stuff while working in the yard, keeps ya hydrated and cramp free.

To clarify, I don't think there's anything wrong with some celebration. I just wonder if the rule was violated and a penalty should have been called.
The refs were SunBelt, not very good or they grew up Hole fans. They must have been absent from ref school the day when holding was taught.
I don't think so. What is your source for that info?
I heard they were ACC refs, and UNC insisted on that when they RELUCTANTLY agreed to play us.
Based on what I saw, it certainly appeared to me they favored the Heels some.

I have never, ever been to a game at any level where fans booed a player for going down, cramp or otherwise. Even some Heels fans sitting near me said that was crossing a line. No class. They deserved a much worse a$$ beating than they got!
Tennessee fans booed the hell out of App players when they went down for cramps. I can't remember who it was, but one of our DB's got pissed and started taunting them because of the booing.

The contract for all three games vs UNC stipulates the visiting team picks the on-field refs and the home team picks the replay refs. So they were Sun Belt refs.

That game at ECU was literally the hottest I’ve ever been. It was hotter than 4 hells out there. I actually bought several $5 bottles of water to just pour on my head. I remember reading that 300+ people ended up needing medical attention at that game
