I just love how much Sutton is slept on. He is so underused that he flies under the radar. No offense to Henni and Malik, who are pretty incredible in in their own right, but Sutton is one of the most polished skill/technique receivers I've seen at App. The overthrown 50yd catch he made Saturday was unbelievable. You could tell he was frustrated by not being overly involved in the second half (which is what you like to see from your receivers), but why take the Ferrari to the dollar store? He has a handful of opportunities to shine coming up, lets see him remind the CFB world how good he is.

I'm able to get in and so far I've only read the one thread about wanting to have a big crowd for our game. They are excited about what Napier's done and hope that we are ranked by then even though one guy latched onto the CBS poll ranking.
They clearly see us as THE team to beat in the SBC and are bummed about it being on a Wednesday and worry about a small crowd. Also, the school is offering discounted tickets and "ladies night" pricing for alcohol. Most are expecting 20 to 22K-ish.
I'm not sensing any disrespect so far, the opposite really, and they want to beat us bad.
go into the ragin pagin part, not just the football thread...

UL's defense is light years ahead of where we were last year at this point. We are fairly healthy, could get Manac back this week and I saw Mackaskill playing last night. So outside of a few nagging injuries, we are healthy and way better than last year.

UL's Special teams are a mixed bag. Our punt and kickoff coverages have been exceptional. We know our Kickoff returns can be great, we just have not had a chance to show much because most of the kicks have been going to the endzone. Our FG kicking is awful although we are now 2-5 rather than 1-5. Our punt returning can be good if we can field the ball and punting has been decent. So overall we are better on kick coverage, but worse at FG than last year. So kind of a wash.

App's Defense is much worse than it has been in the past, they are giving up tons of points. Something they traditionally do not do. 41 to a bad Charlotte team, 31 to a decent UNC team and 37 to an average Coastal team. This was unheard of with Satterfield teams.

App's Offense, now for the bad news........App's offense which has always been good, is actually better under their new coach. They are averaging 47 points a game and have 2 games over 50, 1 over 40 and against their only P5 school scored 34. They are good, really good. Zac Thomas is completing 72% of his passes with 7 TD's and 2 INTs. Darrington Evans is really good, he is averaging 7 yards a carry and scored 9 TDs. He is averaging 117 yards a game. They have 3 main recievers, Thomas Hennigan, seems like he has been there forever with 21 catches for 275 yards and 2 TD's. Malik Williams 19 catches for 232 yards and 1 TD and Corey Xavier Sutton with 12 catches for 134 yards and 1 TD. But they have spread it around as 6 different players have a TD receiving and 5 different runners have scored. So a total of 15 players have scored an offensive TD.

App's Special teams, their kicker has not shown much as he has only attempted 3 FG, mostly because they score TD's in bunches and he has hit all of his 26 XP's. His long FG has been 43 yards. Their punter is really good too, he has a 44.44 yards average with a long of 58. He has 2 touchbacks and 6 of his 16 punts have been fair caught. 7 of his punts have been inside the 20 and he has had 4 over over 50 yards. Oh by the way they have blocked 2 punts and 1 FG this year. Half of their kickoff guys kickoffs have not been returned, so we might have a chance to see some kick returns finally. Oh yeah I forgot to mention their Kick returns have been pretty good too. Their main punt returner has had 5 punts returned for 66 yards, that is a 13.2 yard per punt return average. Their main kickoff guy has a 30.71 yard average and has taken one to the house
Excellent post! I agree with everything you said except about Apps D. I think it may surprise you how good it is. Its improving every game. And that Charlotte team is greatly improved from last year. Cannot wait until kickoff! Its hard to concentrate at work anticipating this game.

Looking forward to meeting some Cajun fans!!

For those of you that cant see this is one fo their threads.

This is pretty much correct....

His post is a cut/paste from the ULL message board, written by a ULL fan. The Appfan then replied to them on their board. I needed help reading it, so thought I would post this in case anyone else was confused (probably just me though) It should read more like this I believe, with the ULL fan quoted first:

As a side note, I still don't understand why my IP address is blocked and find it very strange.

Wow! Some of them are calling this the biggest home game in 30 years, maybe ever. You're welcome!

Let's give them a show!

Yep. I saw that. If they can pull 22k in for a Wednesday night game, more power to them.

They looked good against GaSo. I am sure they remember last year, so we will have to bring it.

Regardless of the outcome of this game, we could meet again this year. The winner of this game could determine who hosts the champ game.

I am traveling to Lafayette. Anyone else?
My wife and I went down the first year we played the Cajuns at their place. We had a blast and everyone treated us like family. Wish we could go back this year but can't work around a Wednesday game. Be sure and checkout Le Krewe de Chew tailgate in the stadium parking lot for authentic Cajun fare.
