We had some sort of issue with that ourselves about a year ago. I'm not sure what resolved, but I think it had something to do with your browser?StorminASU wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:35 pmYour "welcome (to) pretty much everyone" board had blocked my IP address despite me never visiting the site before. I read a lot of people experienced that. Any idea how that happens, or how to fix it? I couldn't even contact anyone? Thanks!imjustafan wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 1:59 pmFair enough. The "flex" was seriously just fun. I'll admit, it is frustrating trying to get on your board (especially when ours welcomes pretty much everyone) to talk about the game and banter. By the time, you get to post, you're annoyed. And btw, I didn't create 4 screen names. Don't know where that came from...

A large segment of our fanbase would agree with the Hudspeth dislike. I was in that number.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:38 pmSorry my cajun fan.....I only like rubbing it in with STink and UNC-C. I like Napier, didnt like Hudspeth for above mentioned reasons. I will observe that Napier looked lost last night. Some bad play calling on his part, thought the refs were equal is missing stuff and we were lucky 3 passes werent intercepted. If we were in a city of 125,000 people we would need a stadium of 50k. Thought sure your crowd would be bigger...
We were befuddled by the gameplan. I just couldn't believe the play calling in the redzone. You guys have identity and your coaching staff has balls. I respect the hell out of that. I thought we knew who we were, but I guess I was wrong. It's like we tested well in the pre-test, then showed up drunk for the exam. Still looking for answers from the staff.
Agree on officiating. Thought a few things were missed on both sides. Holding was prevalent on the edge all night long, but for both teams. No real complaints there.

Podcast is still getting it's legs underneath it. Shot from the hip a lot, but we did praise App a lot. Most of what would be considered "my analysis" was comparatively speaking, but that's really all I had. I did myself a disservice by watching the Charlotte game. I don't know what your defensive line ate the night before, but they were slow at the point of attack in that game, IMO.appstatealum wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:15 pmYou are all good man. I don't mind the trash talk as long as it stays good natured. I was the one that predicted the 62-24 final, but I can see why you guys are excited about those linebackers who have stepped it up this season. Your podcast guys were hard to listen to bc they were reading too much into stats.... I didn't expect our defense to show up big, so that's why I figured Drink would've opened it up offensively. If we see you guys again for SBC game, you probably won't see such a conservative approach. ULL needs a solid QB and another solid receiver and I would expect to see a better competitor. The thing that has thrown people for a loop on App State football is we just do so many different things to win a game, even more now with Drink as coach. It's a culture thing with our locker room.
I had a conference this week, otherwise I would've made the trip and would've loved mixing it up with the cajuns. I love meeting opposing fans and having a little good natured banter. The only place I won't go is Stinksboro. Take care of business against that fraud ArkSt team and let's do this again later.
Obviously got plenty wrong, but App did about what I thought they'd do. Cajun offense sabotaged by the play caller. And man, our QB looked terrified. I give ZT a hard time, but the guy has poise and knows when his offense needs him to make a play. Nice deep ball on that first drive as well.

The ESPN guys kept talking about how much Napier relies on analytics for play calling, like some actuary was running something and crunching the numbers and spitting out a play. Does he really rely on that sort of thing heavily?imjustafan wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 3:04 pmA large segment of our fanbase would agree with the Hudspeth dislike. Re: ALRIGHT - Let me have it.
Tip of the cap for coming back. I thought it was an entertaining, nerve racking and a frustrating game to watch. Entertaining in how close and hard fought it was by both teams. Nerve racking in that neither team could put the other away until the end. Frustrating in some of the offensive play calling by both sides. This was a big win for our guys in the first true road test.
I mentioned it here before the game, App's D needed to pay attention to Ralston down in the RZ. He had 4 catches with 2 TDs entering last night and low and behold, Napier called his number down inside the RZ for a wide open TD. The Cajun punter had an all-star performance and did App's offense no favors. I thought Napier's play calling was a bit suspect, especially the reverse call on 2nd/3rd and short. I felt UL should've lined up and run straight at App's D, especially with Mitchell and mixed in some RB screens to slow down the penetration. The downhill rush seems to be your bread n butter and I figured we'd see more of it. I was very surprised Ragas only got 7 touches. Both defenses played about as well as a fan could ask considering neither team scored like most thought they would.
I know you guys were downplaying ZT as average before the game and he doesn't normally put up eye popping numbers but that young man is a winner. When he runs, he doesn't appear to be very fast but is in fact, pretty quick. He excelled in Satt's offense where he seemed to have a little more leeway and is coming along in Drink's offense that requires him to stay in the pocket more.
Make no mistake, you guys have a good one in Napier and he's got the Cajuns trending in the right direction. Maybe we'll see you all again in December.

Absolutely not. He relies on it as much as the others in CFB that use it: It's a suggestion.Rick83 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 3:10 pmThe ESPN guys kept talking about how much Napier relies on analytics for play calling, like some actuary was running something and crunching the numbers and spitting out a play. Hate is a strong way to characterize it. When you listen to G5 outlets (IDK if you guys do or not) or SBC media, they talk about this guy like he's a Heisman Winner. And like I said, on the board and in the podcast, I think he's really good for what App St does (which in the end is all that really matters). I don't think he's this uber talented guy that is unbeatable. Again, as I said in the pod, give me intangibles over talent any day of the week. ZT is a professional intangible guy. If the narrative around the belt was that he was a game manager, I'd raise holy hell over that. He's certainly not that, and shouldn't be described as such. I think there's a happy median that we can agree on when evaluating him. I also believe Satt/Drink are getting every drop out of his talent and abilities. In fact, your entire roster is similar in the regard. It's uncanny, really.

Good stuff. Agree on pretty much everything. Ragas having 7 touches was a travesty.moonshine wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 3:11 pmTip of the cap for coming back. I'm tell you guys, this was probably the most frustrating game to watch that I can remember in recent memory. Of course App's D showed up last night, but as a fan that's seen what this ground game can do, it was infuriating to watch bone head play call after bone head play call. The fade on 2nd down from the 3 yard line sent me over the top. I was seething.
I was a little shocked that Drink took his foot off of the gas peddle (or at least that's how I felt at the time). You guys had receivers getting loose all over the field; the PA was very effective, especially on our corners.

You definitely get my respect for coming back. I tried to have some fun back but I think it got a little close to gametime. Y'all have a good program and I'm not going to lie and say I didn't pace a hole in my patio but it was a great game. I'm happy we came out on top but hopefully we'll see yall back up on the mountain.

I've been wanting to get back to Boone since the last visit, so hopefully that materializes.

So you’re upset that a guy who’s a top 3, at worst, QB in the G5, a Unitas finalist, and a reigning OPOY is talked about like he is all those things? You sound like what the youths would call a hater.imjustafan wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 3:30 pmHate is a strong way to characterize it. Not upset at all. I don't go around trashing the guy. I don't wake up in the middle of the night, shake my fist in the air and shreek angrily about it. When it came to analyzing the game, I gave an opinion. I've seen the guy play in person 3 times. My opinion has been the same everytime. He's excellent for your system. Perfect fit. But he's not an Elite QB. He's a good G5 QB and yes, this year, probably the best in the 'belt. He's not close to a top 3 G5 QB. That's nonsense. With all due respect, of course.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 4:24 pmSo you’re upset that a guy who’s a top 3, at worst, QB in the G5, a Unitas finalist, and a reigning OPOY is talked about like he is all those things?
