Re: Coastal vs BYU
One more yard by Brigham Young University and Coastal would have not gotten the win. At any rate, congratulations Coastal Carolinian. They beat the number 13 ranked team in the nation and we still have people bitching and moaning and blaming Coach Clark, other coaches, Zac, et al for our narrow loss to the Chants.
Disgusting.
Disgusting.

Congrats to coastal indeed. I also give respect to BYU. Basically zero time to prep and travel 2000 miles. I am not sure many, if any, P5 team would have done the same.

Re: Coastal vs BYU
If CCU takes care of business next weekend vs Troy, that means 2 teams in top 25 CFP rankings facing off in title game....both with 2 top 15 wins, one of which is vs a top 10 team and potential Big 12 champion...great year for the Belt!

Yep. I felt the same way before they started playing. But the longer the game went on the better I felt about Coastal. They were double digit dogs but they showed up ready to play.

Re: Coastal vs BYU
So, if Cincinnati wins the American by beating Tulsa and Coastal wins out against Troy and UL, and others in the top 12 (per the CFP committee rankings) lose, which they will. Will the CFP committee rank Coastal in the top 12? If they do, we could see two G5s in NY6 bowls....right?

Re: Coastal vs BYU
If that happens, just let them play each other as a “Special” NY6 bowl.Rick83 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 9:34 amSo, if Cincinnati wins the American by beating Tulsa and Coastal wins out against Troy and UL, and others in the top 12 (per the CFP committee rankings) lose, which they will. Wonder how the Chants would have done had they had to make the 2000 mi trip to Utah on relatively short notice.

Re: Coastal vs BYU
I think they would have done fine, college athletes love those opportunities, its what they work all year for...but props to BYU...for them to say "any time, any place, any where" is not just lip service

Re: Coastal vs BYU
That makes zero sense. We should expect to win any conference game. It’s not like we came up short against Clemson. And yes Thomas was a major contributor to that loss.NewApp wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 7:04 amOne more yard by Brigham Young University and Coastal would have not gotten the win. Coastal's Defense won that game. 17 points is by far the lowest point total of BYU this year.

Re: Coastal vs BYU
So what’s your point then? You have got to be the most head scratching poster on this board. Oftentimes I read your posts and you seem harmless but then there are times like this weekend when you seem to be drunk or off meds or something and you are just arguing and stirring the pot with everyone. You seem really hung up on byu having to fly to coastal as if that’s the reason they lost. Several of your posts don’t sound like you were for coastal at all. And you are squarely locked into the Golden Boy Thomas camp of which his mistakes are everyone else’s fault but his own and his steady regression is something we will all continue to wish we had under center after he graduates. Riddle me this? We had threeNewApp wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 5:57 pmSeattleapp wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 3:51 pmNewApp wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 2:02 pmLongrifle28 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 9:04 amYep. Tough opponents this year and magically those were Thomas’ three worst games. Is that a successful recipe moving forward? If you want to just argue with people then say that on the front end
