Re: ole miss transfer
How many scholarship players do you think we will end up with in 2013? I know we had to add a minimum of 5 over the 63 mark.

Yeah, I'm not sure why this is so exciting.

It's exciting because we will get more and more looks from FBS athletes that are buried on the depth charts OR seasoned ones that have a year left after graduation. This guy can play and has done so on the field with a decent program. Lastly he is from Florida and it looks like we may well have knocked the door down for recruiting in that market.

Re: ole miss transfer
Agreed it is depth to push Henry Barnes and Gray at FS this fall. At worst he is a special teams player and backs up at safety. This way you do not have to burn an incoming freshman's redshirt this fall.
I am very happy to have him and yet another player from the state of Florida. Keep up the good work Satterfield and Co.

Re: ole miss transfer
The guy started 3 games in the SEC so he can't be too bad. Plus it gives us depth and a scholarship for this year to help our numbers, but it won't take a spot for the 2014 class.fjblair wrote:JCline0429 wrote:We've had success with relatively few FBS transfers. Also, we have a new staff that has different contacts and may have a different philosphy from Coach Moore on transfers. Illinois State had a few transfers that played pretty well for them.
