In my section for the UNC game we were talking about how something seemed off about the speakers. We could barely hear some of the music and announcements where in previous years they were loud and clear. It was like the volume was turned down, or some of the speakers were not working.
Definitely like to hear AC/DC in the mix...I like to play Back in Black as I arrive in town on game day. I have always thought the music was more to get the fans pumped up instead of the players. When the fans are pumped up it helps them get excited and pump up the players. You always hear hard rock at college and NFL stadiums (think Enter Sandman at Va. Tech, Back in Black at The Rock, or Welcome to the Jungle at Carolina Panthers games) and those are popular for a reason. The hard driving bass gets the heart pumping. Some rap songs do that too but, as mentioned in another post, you have to be wary of the lyrics.
Team entrance pump music?

Re: Team entrance pump music?
THANK YOU!!
what’s the point of playing 5 seconds of a song ? Over the ref explaining the call, over the band , over the crowd. When the stupid music starts the App State cheers stop. There is a time and place for music other than the band during a game. And it is not when the offense is trying to win the game. It may not be when the defense needs pumped up by the crowd. Your description of being forced is spot on. It should be coordinated almost choreographed. Make it useful and not freaking annoying.

Entrance and warm-up music. Might as well turn the student section into a pit and get wild.
Then the first minute of this for 4th downs. Imagine it blasting through the speakers right before a huge 4th down game-winning goal line run up the middle.

Forget it....he's rollin'
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.
