So were you also pleading with the coach (from your recliner or stadium seat) to please use a tight end last year?Black Saturday wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 8:25 pmWhat a difference a real OC makes. We need to have some bake sales to give him a raise so he'll stay around another year.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 7:46 pmI think this team is just different. We have a crazy good offensive line, depth at receiver and tight end and obviously at running back. Have we ever had this amount of guys who can play? We can choose to run or pass. We seem to have righted the ship on defense and have decent depth on that side of the ball. I am not ready to predict a table run but if we remain focused it's a little scary how dominant we could be. Coach seems to be able to maintain that focus. Last Saturday won't mean much if we lay an egg against teams we should beat.

Yes we should have won but that was without a doubt the most un-godly hot and humid games I've ever experienced. The stadium was running out of bottled water by half-time and they bought more that was room temperature and folks bought it anyway.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 3:46 pmYes, Wofford.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 3:44 pmI'm expecting them to be tough too, hoping we dont have a let down after the huge win. Didn't we drop a game real soon after Michigan?
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Re: Troy Trojans
I don’t think our game plan against Troy will be the same as A&M game. That was an SEC style game were we needed to control the possessions. I bet we let the let the Defense do their thing and Barbay dials up the Offense for maximum damage.

AE started and played . Come to find out he was injured. Most all games lost in the AE YEARS: we found out AE was hurt. He might have gone undefeated for the year if we had held him out when hurt.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 3:55 pmTo be fair, AE was injured for that gameWataugaMan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 3:46 pmYes, Wofford.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 3:44 pmI'm expecting them to be tough too, hoping we dont have a let down after the huge win. If he wouldn’t have played Elon he would have avoided a few injuries each year.pop5app wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 5:47 amAE started and played . Come to find out he was injured. Re: Troy Trojans
Kind of crazy to look back and recall how many times/games AE was either out or played hurt. Even at the FCS level he wasn't really big enough for the position but he was tough. Think about what his numbers could have been had he not gotten dinged up.biggie wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 5:49 ampop5app wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 5:47 amAE started and played . Re: Troy Trojans
If anyone is still looking for tickets, Troy still has some but you have to call their office to get them. It says on their website they're trying to prevent us from getting them...

Re: Troy Trojans
Troy gave up 292 yards passing to a dual QB system of Alabama A&M. And Ole Miss had 266 rushing yards with 6.1 yards a carry. Both of Troy's leading rushers are under 4 yards a carry.
Watson has thrown three picks in their first two games, two against Alabama A&M, and has been sacked six times. His completion percentage is 70%, so a lot of shorter passes with YAC's.
Troy struggled in the first half versus Alabama A&M, only being up 7-3 at half.
Hard to gauge a ton from Troy considering both their games were on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Re: Troy Trojans
I watched some of the Ol Miss game and they were very physical but not really productive. We need to get after the QB and not let him settle in the pocket.Doable. They will stack against the run , at least for a while opening it up downfield. We have the weapons.

Re: Troy Trojans
Understandably a let down or upset can always happen, however our team will finally be facing peer competition after having faced two P5 teams back to back. I would expect our team to find it significantly easier to score and impose our game plan on what I perceive to be a weaker opponent.

I believe that is what A&M thought. Each game mentality...we are playing the No. 1 team in the country... prepare like we are..
