I believe that they knew Johnson was going to be too good to sit after Spring camp.

Ethan Johnson just for clarity. We historically lose a few recruits like him who really blossom late and then the P5 schools scoop them up. Feels good to see we are recruiting at a level where freshman are good enough to play right away.

Spellman was possibly our best signing in terms of talent and that is tough competition to pick between him, Hopper, Roberts, Johnson, etc. We signed a loaded 2022 class.

Texas State just announced all their priority seats are sold out. Yeah I was surprised too.

When I asked the question a couple of weeks ago about the game being sold out (I thought I might make the game at the time being in the area), nobody thought it would be. And some of you gave me the business (no problem). Maybe it won’t. But more fans will be there than was expected.

They actually announced priority seating was sold out Monday. Then again they havent had many good crowds here in forever going back to their FCS days.

The last decent crowd they had down here for a game was in 2016 when Houston was #5 and before Tom Hermann screwed UH over. Sadly Texas State fans started leaving with 10 minutes left in the 1st half.

Just noticed WEIRDLY this week is a "Blackout" game for Tx St.

Coastal beach chickens has already announced a "blackout" game there against us too. I guess they both think it will look like they have more fans there. I wear Gold most of the time at away games any more, especially hot games in Texas.
