Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
I really hate about 99% of the commercials these days as narratives are over the top but I love the Dr. Pepper ones. One of the latest is hilarious with the group confronting the guy who apparently refuses to take it too seriously. He is asked if he made a comment on the message board. The group is aghast that he isn't living and dying over the team. A whole bunch of you guys need to reassess priorities. It's a damn game. I watched a little bit of that brutal OSU v NW game yesterday. NW is a one win team but there was still support and cheering. I'm sure a segment of that fan base wants coaches fired and understably isn't happy with their situation but most of them still had a good time and cheered like hell when the game was in doubt.

Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
Totally missing the point. This is not comparing our situation to Alabama’s. This is very cleverly written parody. Pointing out how idiotic a portion of our fan base behaves.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 12:04 amThis is a totally stupid thread to compare our situation to Saban.
Saban lost 6 games in first year and then ONLY one season since with 3 losses. All other seasons were 2 or less losses thru 2021. This is over 15 years. That’s Fifteen years of coaching to reiterate. All at the highest level of college football, the SEC.
While at Bama:
185-27 record in 15 seasons
8 SEC championships
6 National Championships
You compare that to a HC with less than three years with each year progressively getting worse and we have not made it through the third year yet. What are you thinking?
My post is NOT to knock our HC but to call out how ridiculous your sarcastic comment is. Do not insult us with this nonsense comparing the two.

Ehh, not really that clever. Just picking at really low hanging fruit with a really dumb parody comparison. I guess if you consider fans who hold the program to high standards as idiots then we should just accept mediocrity with a smile. That is quite the loser attitude. I guess if that is what floats y'all's boats you are free to feel that way.AppinATL wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 8:27 amTotally missing the point. This is not comparing our situation to Alabama’s. Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
It’s not about mediocrity at all. It’s about accepting that it is what it is and trying to understand what WE as fans, alumni and donors can do to assist with helping right the ship, rather than ranting about firing coaches and getting offended when those that choose to complain are asked to put skin in the game. Having high standards for some thing that you have no control over isn’t a winning attitude. Being unhappy about the record isn’t a winning attitude. Understanding why it is what it is isn’t accepting, nor is it a loser’s mentality.appdaze wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 9:26 amEhh, not really that clever. However from my perspective, I want SC to succeed. Always have and always will want that. But he is going to have to be willing to take an honest look in the mirror and make the adjustments needed across the board. I am not prescribing what those actions are as I don’t have all the facts from inside the program nor am I claiming to be some expert. I do know what I see and I see chronic reoccurring issues over the last few years that should not be ignored or we will get worse. I would reach out to some folks outside the bubble that could be trusted for a perspective I.e. Dabo or similar. I would really find out how successful programs are being run. This is a start.

Saban is definitely getting older and perhaps slipping a bit. That makes it all the more impressive that Alabama won there conference title game last year, and after ending their season with a loss, is bowl eligible already. Maybe when Clark is 71 he'll be able to do the same.CoachRob wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 11:19 amThis is an excellent point. Yes we have some overzealous fans, but this post is just as ridiculous as those that are chestpounding after a poor showing.
There are problems within the App program. Now we can have a constructive debate if that is recruiting in the trenches, game prep/scheme, or situational play calling.
Beat Marshall.
I think several of us,(Saint you being 1 of those), can honestly sit down and have a rational discussion on the issues we all see and debate about them.
However, there is a large irrational group, (like every fan base), who have already made up their mind and just cant be rational when emotions are involved (ie. after a loss). Most of the time, these irrational thinkers are wrong. Which is the point of the OP.
