My son is in the Yosef club, he received an email this week stating they oversold the group and now only half of the students will get a ticket to the games. He said they will be notified via email if they get to attend the games.

If true, this is unreal. The students have been getting the middle finger all off-season. Unless something changes quick, and things are fixed, we are going to get what we sow. And it won’t be good.

I’m not saying you are incorrect but I think your messenger is missing some context. Either this is specifically for student Yosef club seats on the 50 or it’s something unrelated. Twitter X would be going in a frenzy if an email of a ticket lottery was sent out.

Not sure if true or not. I asked to see exact wording of email sent to SYC this week.My daughter is not in SYC and not into sports thing (yes, I failed as a parent )...so I do not have access to the email. SYC is reporting 6,000 members on the MAF site. Not sure how that plays out between lower level West side plus the Hill and capacity....

My guess, and this is 100% a guess, but I am guessing it's half the guest tickets each student can get -- not half the students get tickets.

I know with UNC last year, they had to limit student guest tickets (maybe get rid of them completely?) Is it possible with 6000 SYC members (is this number accurate?) they know they have that many guest tickets so they're proactively limiting it?

Yeah, I would think it would go well in the quad for students, but apparently not. i'd like to hear more details. I'm wondering why there would be resistance to tailgating there.

With any tailgating on campus like Sanford or Quad... campus hall monitors (so to speak) need to be lax for a few hours unless someone is getting out of hand.

I don't really disagree, but isn't that an issue regardless of where it happens? Duck Pond field was in the middle of dorms as well back before all the construction. None of the lots are far, so I would think there is traffic in and out of dorms regardless.

That probably is true. I had heard, whether true or not, that when students were in the parking lots that there was not as strict enforcement. I was not undergrad at App. I was in grad school and we lived in Mountaineer Apts right Bodenheimer (no longer there). We just had a group that met from various apts in one of the small parking lots of the apts. We never had an issue. Maybe it was due to being grad) family housing....so they did not bother. I am sure it may be different for undergrads.
