If Napier gets canned at Florida, I would call him in a heartbeat. Flame away.

I like Steve Wilks but I don't know why you "have to" make him your first call or make him say no. He's a good NFL defensive coach. That's a different skill set than a good G5 college HC. He's barely coached in college in 20 years, and when he did, he was kind of a journeyman position coach.

Not saying he shouldn't be considered, but we all know no one would be mentioning him here if he weren't an alum.

He won games with the panthers. On that alone he should get a look

That’s a rock-solid point.

Joey Halzle

Tenn OC/QB coach. He's currently getting 850k. We are paying SC about 775k if I remember right. We can close that gap and offer 900k without totally killing us financially while giving a young lion his shot to prove himself for the P4 head coaching positions.

We’re paying 950 now I think we can get to 1.2 if we need to

The most unfortunate thing is that probably 100 of us would need to win the lottery and become mega donors to buy the team we need. I'm affraid that we are not going to keep up recruiting or coaching at what we got right now. We won't compete as long as NIL is around. Those So AL kids didn't just show up, that's a decent squad that will compete this year. No idea what players are getting paid.

We used to fret over the thought of only having a coach for two years. If you turn over a third of your roster who cares?

Guys , were in the top 20% of g5 programs for donations and ticket sales. Maybe top 10%. You can look this up we have to report every year as well as every other public school.
South Alabama reported $2MM in donations and $1MM in ticket sales. We reported $10 and $7. We did 5x them in organic revenue. We probably made more in ticket sales tonight than they will all year.

We’re not at a disadvantage in the g5 these are our peers there’s not some shadowy cabal giving them tons of funds to buy players. They got a good coach and he picked the right coaches and players. We don’t.

We had two jets fly over Kidd Brewer for the first time ever. We looked like losers.

Preach. We were left behind a long time ago. You can hate it all you want, but CFB is a business and if you don't have good managers who can put good product out there, you're in trouble.
