I would think The Citadel is the weakest of our first four opponents and hope one of the games chosen is the The Citadel for a suspension. ECU meant nothing in the grand scheme of the season.

No mention of Holloway

Just so we're keeping up, here's what our attrition rate looks like since the close of last season:

TE Trevor Sawyer (suspension, out indefinitely) projected starter
LB/DE Langston Tanyi (discipline, dismissed from program) starter
LB/DE John Rizor (discipline, dismissed from program) starter
RB Quarrterrio Morgan (academics, out indefinitely) projected starter
WR Sean Price (two-game suspension) projected starter
DB Jamill Lott (two-game suspension) projected starter
LB Jamal Ware (two-game suspension) projected backup
QB Kalik Barnes (suspension, out for season) projected backup
DB Dante Blackmon (injury, out for season) projected starter
DB/kickoff return Doug Middleton (injury, out for season) starter
RB Rod Chisholm (injury, out 4-6 weeks) starter
Don't forget Wray who sat out injured last year and was a starter.

Using that logic, I'd rather have our entire line-up at the coach's disposal for all conference games. A loss to Montana means nothing if App wins the Socon. First goal every season is to win the Socon!

The Citadel doesn't have the talent to beat APP this year.

Actually a loss to Montana this weekend very well would play into a seeding situation or consideration for home games in the playoffs.

The early season OOC loss to McNeese a few years ago caused us to end up in Missoula. Had we won that McNeese game and we were clearly a #1 or #2 seed and we play our third playoff game at home.

I agree App has more talent but that does not always equate to a win. Look no further than last year's game, 49-42 victory. Yes I know we don't always play well down in Chucktown. However, I don't see any team in the Socon sweeping all their conference games this year. I believe a loss to a conference opponent is much more detrimental than a loss to Montana. I too think that it is important to gain homefield advantage but that is goal #2 behind winning the Socon.

The depth chart would make it appear that the suspensions will be observed this week as well. It some ways it makes more sense for them to consecutive anyway.

Thanks, Moonshine. I knew I was forgetting someone. I'll update the master list.

That swing pass killed us last week. Those guys were open and noboby around them for 10+ yards. I agree, if we can stop the run, we will win.

Let me go on the record and say if El Cit beats us in Boone this year, then our season is over after 3 games, because there will be more losses than we are accustomed to. We won't have to worry about any post season. I don't think The Committee ever lost to The Citadel, even though they danged near tried to last year.
