You are right there are. It's as simple as getting one of these. They're free and the data never hit's the phone. The main hit with PCI is if you store CC data locally (this doesn't) and that you encrypt for transmission (it does).

I'm leaving the PCI compliance issues to the folks who would be on the hook if something went awry. Since there's much talk of a better fan shop near / at the stadium, we might be able to link into that somehow. I'm just happy there are plenty of new things on the table being seriously considered.

Other ideas:

- I mentioned one on another thread - bonus points for referrals.

- Make certain benefits available at lower levels. For example, $1,500 seems like a pretty high requirement just to receive a media guide. And a hospitality event at games for those at, say, the $250 level and up would be nice, as opposed to the current $1,000 requirement.

I'm guessing that most new members would probably be joining at the relatively lower levels. And as you say, Daphne, donors at the lower levels tend to be looking for benefits. Of course, once you're in, you might well start moving up to higher levels as you see the increasing benefits.
There was some side discussion about the referral points idea. On its surface, it's a great idea. The trick with any points benefits is to make them such that new members or ones just getting started on the giving curve are able to see real progress without setting up a system that might vault newer members over ones who have given consistently for decades. We need to honor all donors appropriately. The other piece is being sure to establish programs that will stand the test of time - not eons, but at least several years. I'd look for something along the referral line to surface once the new member and RWU points settle out.

I really like the idea of various benefits at lower levels. Certainly, the value of gatherings of Yosef members as often as possible is a good thing. The topic of the Yosef Club room at the Quinn surfaces on a regular basis. The tough part is working to keep as many dollars going to student-athlete scholarships as possible while still showing appropriate appreciation to donors.

Keep the ideas coming. Thanks for being part of Yosef!
