VT was the most embarrassing performance from an App football team in my memory. VT could have easily put 100 pts on the board but Beamer called off the dogs in the 2nd half. As bad as the score was, the beating was actually worse than the score indicated and it could have been worse. What really irked me was JM's comments that he thought we were prepared and could win that game. That was one time that he really failed in the coaching dept. There is no way you should think your team is "ready and prepared" when that happens. That was the icing on the cake for me that he was SO out of touch with what was really happening with the team. He did great things for us but this was not his best day at the office.

I thought VT was bad but Wyoming was pretty bad. We were pretty pathetic in that game. Very sad day out there.

It was terrible but I must say one can't hold those comments against Coach Moore - not to the extent that you state --- It was a season opener - I rate Coach K as the best coach out there in college now and I feel sure he felt his team was ready against Mercer and that was after a season of games - Heck when I was coaching I really thought my team was ready a couple of times and we got slammed - it happens, it doesn't mean the coach has lost his mind or his ability to coach ---

I don't ever want to witness another performance like the VT game again. What was worse, was how lost Coach Moore was afterward - our coaching staff was in shambles in 2011

I'm assuming you meant Montana. If so, I agree. We were horrible.

Unless you were one of the 500 App fans huddled under the overhang in a driving rain storm to witness the 50th W Y O first down, you can't fully understand how bad that game was. Worst game I ever sat through.

I wasn't there, but watched it. It was bad.

I was in Laramie then also. I still can't forget either the WYO or VT games. Wyoming was probably the worst since VT was a much better team.

Hence why I cringe at that's another Appalachian...first down.

Wasn't that the year that we later played LSU to a really good 21-7 outcome or something along those lines in November ?

I believe that was a year later. Wyo was the first game of the spread era in 2004 if I'm not mistaken.
Give 'em hell!
