Unless the rule has changed, I'm pretty sure a player is ineligible for a regular redshirt if he plays even one play, so I think it would have to be a medical RS. The end result is basically the same, the difference being that if he were to miss another year to injury at some point, he would be eligible for a 6th year.
Stand corrected East. When I played you could play in the first three games and then the coaches could decide to shirt you or not. I even have my paperwork stating that. I knew the rules had been updated several times but somehow I had never checked to see if that one had changed. And they are going to become even stricter starting with the 2016 class, according to what I saw this morning. Sorry for the mixup. I've changed the post.

With all this being said, can someone with far more roster knowledge than me, take a purely hypothetical swipe at a depth chart for next season? Also assuming TL keeps progressing and without question what do we think happens with Caruso? Is he just going to hold a clipboard for the next three seasons?

Yeah I've been wondering the same thing about Daniel David. I'm thinking we have a package just for him to come in and run. Kind of like what Florida did for Tim Tebow his freshman year.

"I'm not sure why everyone is so concerned about OL."

Given the last couple of seasons, it will be a long time before App fans stop worrying about the OL.

you cant have enough quality OL/DL, almost every year those positions should be a top priority in our recruiting.

Depth, Depth, Depth. We need three deep on both OL/DL without "significant" drop off, especially the 1 and 2's.

You not only need a steady dose of lineman for depth but you need to account for recruits that don't pan out either through talent, grades, or health.

"Black Saturday"]Seriously, do we have any good prospects to fill special teams coverage so that APP football can go 1 season in the last quarter century with no returns for TDs?

Right on, one of the few downsides of App Football the last 25 years. I swear we have given
up more fake fg's, punts, and returns than any team in history.

I completely understand why people are concerned. OL is huge. We wouldn't have beaten stAte or ULM without our current OL.

All I am saying is that we have 3 freshman starters, 3 redshirt freshman that are going to be good and add valuable depth, and we never know what's going to happen with recruiting.

With the magic that Coach Ledford had worked with our OL this year I can't imagine that we won't sign some good OL recruits.

Right now I think DL is more of a concern. Thankfully we just signed that JUCO guy.

Our coaches see our needs and I'm guessing they know more than any of us do.

Our future is bright, let's keep looking up.

I'll take a guess, with a couple caveats:

- I'm going to use the "OR" designation a lot, and also just be vague at times, rather than just making totally random guesses.
- I'm going to include four WR spots because we're so deep there that I think we'll get back to that personnel more often.
- This will undoubtedly be very, very wrong.

Thanks for taking a swipe at it. Obviously a lot can change but even based on those projections our starting 25/26 (to include kickers and return men) could conceivably include few, possibly no seniors. That is a scary proposition for the next two seasons at least! The best part of this scenario is that so many of these guys are getting huge playing time now. Obviously supports the "young" argument but it is nice to see names on paper. The OL listed should only get stronger in the off season.
