Or hell get armanti, he's not doing anything and has nfl WR experience.

Elder's a great guy but I'd love another P5 GA like Stepp. Now that App State is hot I'm sure the resume's on Beasley's desk will be piled high.EastHallApp wrote:SMU is ideed a dumpster fire, but they're going to be paying Morris $2 million a year. Compare that to whatever we're paying Satt now and Stepp should being increasing his paycheck by approximately... a lot. Sorry to lose him, but I wish him luck.
As for his replacement... How about Trey Elder?
Seriously you don't have better to do in your life than stalk a teenager's Twitter feed? Get some help dude.Gonzo wrote:I wish him well. He's a great person and coach.
This however is very concerning:

Not to nitpick, because overall I agree with your thoughts, but Stepp will probably double his salary at least with this move, and that's assuming his listed salary is out of date due to the FBS pay bumps. It's not going to be "a few extra bucks." That kind of raise would be a big incentive for most people.APPARJ wrote:Stepp wouldn't have left App State for a few extra bucks. Chad Morris was Stepp's mentor when he was a GA at Clemson. When Morris got the SMU job it was a matter of time.
Either way, I like the idea of bringing in another young guy for recruiting purposes.APPARJ wrote:Elder's a great guy but I'd love another P5 GA like Stepp. Now that App State is hot I'm sure the resume's on Beasley's desk will be piled high.EastHallApp wrote:SMU is ideed a dumpster fire, but they're going to be paying Morris $2 million a year. I fully understand the nature of society and social media today. But this went beyond that. Trying to psychoanalyze a college freshman based on a completely innocuous tweet is a sign of something not good in my book.boonetown1 wrote:rbarthle17 wrote:Seriously you don't have better to do in your life than stalk a teenager's Twitter feed? Calm down, that's how most get recruiting updates now. I wouldn't think he would leave and loose a year of elegability anyways.

Our football players have thousands of twitter followers, most of whom are App fans.rbarthle17 wrote:Seriously you don't have better to do in your life than stalk a teenager's Twitter feed? Get some help dude.Gonzo wrote:I wish him well. He's a great person and coach.

Al Gore invented it. He couldn't make it work so he scrapped it and invented the internet instead.WVAPPeer wrote:

With the kind of money SMU has, it's possible Stepp will be making more than Satterfield next year...hard to blame the guy. I know the AAC isn't considered Big 5 anymore, but I would say it and Mtn West are a step above the other 3 "Group of 5" leagues.EastHallApp wrote:Not to nitpick, because overall I agree with your thoughts, but Stepp will probably double his salary at least with this move, and that's assuming his listed salary is out of date due to the FBS pay bumps. Yes. Doubling your salary is a big incentive. But I also believe Stepp has been planning on Morris hiring him for a while. I can see the logic of not wanting to leave a place he loves for more money when he knows his big money opportunity will come in time.EastHallApp wrote:Not to nitpick, because overall I agree with your thoughts, but Stepp will probably double his salary at least with this move, and that's assuming his listed salary is out of date due to the FBS pay bumps. JM was one of the visitors, I heard he's in the running as WR coach.firemoose wrote: Now everyone can know why I didn't press for a visitors list. Too many things were happening and I didn't want to bother anyone. Most of the targets are listed.
