Not gonna happen. I'll let Googling Gonzo do that.brocktune90 wrote:Get to googling and please let us know what you find.NewApp wrote:I would like to see a list of bowls by prestige, media attention, attendance, and pay out. Payout without counting tickets which were forced to be bought.

Re: More Bowls for SBC
Prestige is subjective. Media attention, to a lesser extent, is as well. Attendance varies year to year and wouldn't be applicable yet for the two Sun Belt bowls that are new this year. Payout information, to the best of my knowledge, isn't available for a number of these bowls, though I'd like to see it as well,NewApp wrote:I would like to see a list of bowls by prestige, media attention, attendance, and pay out. I support what is best for App State. You supported App staying in the FCS and didn't care about media or "prestige" that is my point.NewApp wrote:We never had to force sales of our tickets. In fact the three playoffs I attended had more buyers than there were tickets. I don't know where you get off on me fully supporting FCS while we were in it. You should have, too.Saint3333 wrote:You weren't concerned by these things while an FCS program.NewApp wrote:I would like to see a list of bowls by prestige, media attention, attendance, and pay out. A quick answer to all is less than the "BCS" bowls, but more than the FCS playoffs.

Re: More Bowls for SBC
This year we have away games with Clemson, ODU, and GSU which are all within 5 hours for 80% of our fans. How can anyone complain about having 9 games within driving distance? Not to mention every game will be broadcast in some form.NewApp wrote:That's because all that booze has pickled your brain. I was totally against it for months, admittedly and still regret certain aspects. I would still like to see the figures on our App attendence at away games this past season. There was an entiire thread a couple years ago by Yosef Message board detailing many games members would attend. I wonder how that worked out and how many stayed home and watched them on ESPN3 like me. Whenever we go to a bowl (hopefully this year) i plan to be there unless it's versus UNC-C.
Last year we had 8 with GS and Troy on the schedule.

Also future road games with Tennessee, Georgia, Wake Forest and UNCC. Though apparently the latter is also not something NewApp is willing to attend. Tough to complain about not enough games within driving distance while also complaining about playing the second-closest FBS program to Boone (and the one located in the county that is home to the most App alumni).JTApps1 wrote:This year we have away games with Clemson, ODU, and GSU which are all within 5 hours for 80% of our fans. Re: More Bowls for SBC
FYI As to the UNC-C game, I will be there with bells on even though I am jealous they got the CUSA in our stead. Now traveling hundreds of miles to see us play them in a bowl game is entirely a different matter. The affiliation is backwards, but I blame CUSA rather than us for that occurring. I'm evidently one of the few who is glad we play UNC-C as it is in my backyard figuratively. Too, I'm not one of the ones who thinks of them as a community college. They have a lot of potential for support by the Charlotte fandom as witnessed by Richardson's 7 figure donation.EastHallApp wrote:Also future road games with Tennessee, Georgia, Wake Forest and UNCC. Re: More Bowls for SBC
So you're disappointed that fellow App fans decided to take up donations to show our excitement and support after a fantastic finish to the football season? No one from the university asked or suggested this be done. Matter of fact, I had to implore Firemoose to use his connections with folks at the university to get the S&C fund started. This was done on our own accord to help out the new S&C Director. If I'm not mistaken, very few programs (not in the ACC, B1G, SEC, etc.) have this type of specialized equipment. Even though the idea came from the excitement of finishing strong in football, this equipment will benefit all of App's athletic programs. I don't understand how one could be disappointed that fans did something to show our excitement and to benefit all athletic programs.NewApp wrote:4. My only disappointments have been being in the SunBelt instead Of CUSA and that we had to take up a collection to buy some conditioning equipment.

No, I'm disappointing that we had to. And yes, the idea was first floated on here by a member of the conditioning staff. He should have been able and justified in simply submitting a requisition. Again you twist.

Re: More Bowls for SBC
The idea was not floated on here by any ASU staff member. The whole project was suggsted by mooshine after reading an article where the S&C coach said Tendo units would be a great help to him. You worked for the state long enough to know that any kind of request like that would not be funded until the next budget year, which starts on July 1, too late to do them any good for this season. Maybe he planned to ask for them? Do we know for sure that he wasn't going to?NewApp wrote:o you're disappointed that fellow App fans decided to take up donations to show our excitement and support after a fantastic finish to the football season?

I can't imagine how a completely heartfelt show of appreciation by a group of fans could be disappointing, but everyone sees things their own way, I suppose.

You're twisting. I'm glad we did it, but still. That's money that could have been used on the Yosef Club especially since we aren't fully funded and we're going to need more if the " all cost" crap comes through any time soon.appst89 wrote:The idea was not floated on here by any ASU staff member. Re: More Bowls for SBC
We did not have to. The donations were completely voluntary. Those who could give did so and many did not want to be recognized. You can still run a S&C program without tendo units but it's a very nice tool for them to utilize. I'm pretty sure I floated the idea and am in no way connected to the conditioning staff. I've never even spoke with Coach Iron Mike. I asked Firemoose for help since he already had a relationship with him. This was done purely out of love and support for our athletic programs.NewApp wrote:o you're disappointed that fellow App fans decided to take up donations to show our excitement and support after a fantastic finish to the football season?

Not to bring McLeansville into this but are you disappointed that Mc asks for donations from fellow App fans for school computer equipment? I know for sure that I'm not. Kudos to him and everyone who helps out.

I merely clarified your misconception. If that is twisting, so be it.
