Re: Question About Seating
Just looked at stubhub, 40 tickets on the 50. Most are in the 20's, most expensive $36. I expected to see many more for sale.

Re: Question About Seating
Why not give your current ticket to an app state fan/student and just buy the better seats on stub hub. Your only out $25 and we get another mountaineer in the stadium.AppinATL wrote:What the hell? Re: Question About Seating
Shoot, why not give a longtime donor/season ticket holder a better seat to start with? "Be sure to by from the AppState ticket office...blah, blah, blah. So this is what I get? The more I think about it, the more pissed off I am.Appstate88 wrote:Why not give your current ticket to an app state fan/student and just buy the better seats on stub hub. Re: Question About Seating
I'm sure App would like to have better seats to offer. They can only sell what the bowl provides them. As far as being in the front row, I hear ya, that could potentially be rough (hopefully the stands are elevated enough that you can at least see OK). I don't know how App accounts for that, may be that they just give the highest-ranking donors the closest seats.AppinATL wrote:Shoot, why not give a longtime donor/season ticket holder a better seat to start with? And re: the previous post - I'm having a hard time imagining a scenario in which an App fan/student is willing and able to make the necessary travel and lodging accommodations to go to the game but just can't swing the cost of the ticket.

Re: Question About Seating
The tickets I am seeing on Stubhub are all on the Press Box side, not the East (App) Side.
I bet a large section was allocated to players' families as well, plus the band is in there somewhere. Hoping for a full and energetic App crowd.

Re: Question About Seating
Welcome to Bowls boys, the almighty dollar is THE most important consideration. From team selection to seat allocation. Bowls always give the best seats to the corporate sponsors, it's no different than going to the Final Four in basketball. The teams actually playing get their tickets in the corners and upper decks.
You don't buy your tickets from the school for good seats, you buy them from the school to help the school. Channel your inner Kennedy when buying bowl tickets; "Ask not what tickets are best for you, but what tickets are best for the school."

“When you take that field today, you've got to lay that heart on the line, men. From the souls of your feet, with every ounce of blood you've got in your body, lay it on the line until the final whistle blows.”

Re: Question About Seating
... and AFTER you buy from the school, go buy a 50 yd line seat later from StubHub... Ya still only got 50 bucks in it and give your first ticket to students or other fans.

Man, plenty of people on this board willing to spend other people's money on extra tickets.

Nope just can't believe folks are complaining about ticket locations... If the same folks were going to the Cure Bowl, they'd be spending $60 on A ticket, not $25

Re: Question About Seating
Section P, Row 24
A question out of curiosity for those wishing they had 50 yard line seats:
How many of you sit between the 45's in KBS at every home game or are, say, top 75 in Yosef points?
I'm not trying to be ugly here. I'm simply trying to get a sense of how well our expectations mirror our own engagement. Just chalk it up to a numbers nerd wanting to crunch a few more numbers.

Re: Question About Seating
I think it's a fair criticism. (For the record, I haven't complained about my seat. Don't know where it is, but I'm sure it's in the same area everyone else is citing. But I expected as much when I purchased.)DaphneUrquhart wrote:Section P, Row 24

If you're on the 10-yard line in KBS, you know it's because the people at midfield are students and donors who gave more than you did. That's understandably easier to stomach for some than a bowl game where some of the best seats are available for public sale directly from the bowl. Fans basically get punished for being loyal and supporting their school by buying from the school allotment.
Again, I bought from App, I'm not complaining about my seat, and I understand this is an issue for all bowls, not just the Camellia. I just agree that it's less than ideal.

Re: Question About Seating
I just went to StubHub, VividSeats and SeatGeek and ALL the tickets they have to sell are on Ohio side. That tells me that even though corporate and or locals bought "best/better seats" on App side, NONE are for sale on open market... Odd thing on official site selling tickets is that general admission tickets on our side have gone from 192 to 660 available... Wonder if bleachers were added?

Re: Question About Seating
I want to sit with the APP family. Buy a ticket on stubhub and ya might be sitting with a Bama Fan, and believe they will tell ya how the referees cost them their lost or how great the incoming class is, or how they are gonna beat Michigan State with one arm tied behind their back.

Re: Question About Seating
This isn't a Broadway play so I didn't care where in a 25,000 seat stadium I ended up. I'm just excited for a post season, a national stage and national media coverage. Can't wait to hit the road early Saturday

Re: Question About Seating
You miss the point entirely. Its not about the money. I would have paid $100 for a ticket to our first bowl game. The point is, I'd like to actually be able to SEE it from my seat. What I'm having trouble understanding is how I got such lousy seats when I am firmly in the middle or top of the middle of the pack in the priority points. I'll be there and I'll make the most of it but going forward I'm going to think long and hard about where to buy my bowl tickets.YesAppCan wrote:Nope just can't believe folks are complaining about ticket locations... Re: Question About Seating
To answer your question as it pertain to me, I sit just off the 50 at KBS, probably the 47. But that's not what I'm complaining about. I don't care that I'm on the 20 at the Bowl. I'm not that snobbish. I'm complaining about being buried in Row 1 where even if the stands are elevated a bit higher than KBS, it will be impossible to see the action over a large part of the field. I just think a season ticket holder and donor should be taken care of a little better than that.DaphneUrquhart wrote:Section P, Row 24

Re: Question About Seating
Was not implying you were complaining, sorry if it came across like that. I will say I have wondered--not complained either
-- on exactly how seats were filled according to Yosef points.

Re: Question About Seating
I am not a Yosef Club member (will be next year for sure) but I think that those of you that are should have got first dibs on our bowl tickets. It only makes sense that those of you support the school should get the best tickets.
I think the thing to remember is that this is the first bowl game since 1955 that Appalachian State University has been invited to and we are going to be honored to be there! I will take a bad seat any day just to be a part of this... Plus, I would rather sit in the same section with all of you!!
