Premium seating opportunities...
Re: Premium seating opportunities...
OK here's the deal on Club seats, you must do a 5 year capital commitment and the gift is based on how many seats you want. But here's the perplexing thing they are advertising this but, they have over a hundred accounts in the waiting status with really very little hope of getting a seat. Unless there is something going on I'm ignorant about. I'm by no mean bashing what ASU has and is trying to do. However maybe the timing is telling us some of these seats are coming open or they are getting ready to build. So I guess its a waiting game for now.

As long as one person is at the required YOSEF level and you put everything in their name. I know of two groups who do this for club seats and stadium lot parking. They pool their money and contribute and buy tickets under one name.Rekdiver wrote:So if you got 10 couples to get a suite the annual cost with the 5-7% increase per year 1st year cost will be $3,429 per couple.

I've seen that rendering and I think it looks great. If I were a betting man, I would say the next expansion will be around premium seating. IMO, I sat knock down the other side and put premium seating in the middle or loop in the field house side, creating a small amount of general seating with boxes above (not a large expansion, but would look good). Also, I like the field in the pic above as well; I would just say use more of a clean and progressive font for mountaineers.

True and I agree but in the end without that YC donation those club seats are not yours. I can get a spot on the hill and the cost of the ticket is just that. I am not required to donate to YC.Saint3333 wrote:I never count my Yosef Club donation in the cost of the tickets.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:At $35,000 for one year between YC donation and the $30k paymnent and with 6 home games for 20 seats the price is $291 per seat. $275 per seat for the $28k price tag plus $5k YC donation.Rekdiver wrote:I got a response.
Club seats $1,500 to $2,500 Yosef Donation Long (depending on how many seats you want)waiting list based on lifetime giving. Seats are $750
Suites they want a min $5,000 YC donation then a multi year commitment of $28k+ and a 1 year commit of 30k+ I have no idea how many seats are in a suite.
The donation to the Yosef Club is my giving back to the university to support student athletes.
Either way I can't afford $275 seats for one game for one person, so this is all academic for me.

No App fan is required to donate to the Yosef Club, but joining the Yosef Club is more important to the success of App than buying tickets. Some fans, not saying you, only give to the Yosef Club for what they get for giving, that's not in the spirit of the Yosef Club. In response we've had to make the Yosef Club donation mandatory to purchase tickets.

I would like something like this because it's a low profile. One of my biggest hopes about expansion is that we preserve the view of Howard's Knob and don't build too high behind that end zone.yosef13 wrote:Southern Miss end zone.

From a conversation yesterday with a person involved in these discussions, it appears that the old Watauga High School campus just south of HWY 105 is off the agenda because the Watauga County Commission won't come off of that krazy-as-a-loon (my words) $15 Mil price *dream* (also my word). It's a no-go with the university--and understandably so.EastHallApp wrote:I would like something like this because it's a low profile. Additional premium seating is high on the agenda, because it creates a revenue stream--which is absolutely necessary for the athletic department as heavy political pressure mounts to back away from use of student fees.
The architectural theme that seems to have favor now is something in the North end zone replacing Owens Field House; something along the lines of SouMiss or ODU. Something heavy on Club Seating and light on luxury suites. The vision might also include another indoor practice facility and perhaps including a logo merchandise retail store, an Urgent Care unit that might provide high level urgent care and perhaps offer internship opps for grads of the university's School of Health Sciences, a food/beverage service of some sort and other fan and athletics-related services. Under no circumstances would it block the view of Howard's Knob. That last point will be cooked into the recipe.
The track will eventually go bye-bye (probably the next time the turf is replaced), but don't expect to see the -playing field lowered or for the lower stands to get closer to the playing field. It has been professionally studied and the costs and liabilities far outweigh any perceived gains.

I am not able to give enough right now to earn more than a sticker, though I do display that on the back of my car with pride. What little I give to YC is truly a gift from the heart to my beloved alma mater.Saint3333 wrote:No App fan is required to donate to the Yosef Club, but joining the Yosef Club is more important to the success of App than buying tickets. Hate to hear that about the old high school. That would have been the perfect place for our facility needs. I guess the County forgot who gave them the land their fancy new high school is sitting on. Some of those locals are blind when it comes to working with App.asu66 wrote:From a conversation yesterday with a person involved in these discussions, it appears that the old Watauga High School campus just south of HWY 105 is off the agenda because the Watauga County Commission won't come off of that krazy-as-a-loon (my words) $15 Mil price *dream* (also my word). The next best option may be to build a track/soccer stadium and hopefully softball stadium on and around the old Broyhill Inn site.

So, if the track is going to be gone and they are not building any seats closer to the field , what will be located where the track currently sits ?asu66 wrote:From a conversation yesterday with a person involved in these discussions, it appears that the old Watauga High School campus just south of HWY 105 is off the agenda because the Watauga County Commission won't come off of that krazy-as-a-loon (my words) $15 Mil price *dream* (also my word). Re: Premium seating opportunities...
I don't think the distance between the current stands and field is that great. If you look at sanford stadium or auburn, they both have hedges and a wide sidewalk down both sidelines. Neither are that much different than what we currently have, our is just "camoflauged" as a track. Imop, the only places the track "impedes" sightlines and "closeness" to the field are the endzones. There is no need to lower or move the east/west stands closer. Just close in the endzones, whether it is permanent or temporary stands.

Re: Premium seating opportunities...
Our seats are seven rows behind the visitors' bench. The stands are close enough to the field. We can get much better ROI without spending money to get a few feet closer to the sidelines.

I like the southern miss end zone. regarding the track, I say just build a new hill at the other end close to the field and were good. Maybe even a flat area at the bottom for kids.

Re: Premium seating opportunities...
One idea I heard suggested is that, instead of attempting to lower the field (expense and risk), we could rebuild the lower deck of the East side and raise it up to align more closely with the bottom of the upper tier....extending further out onto the field. That makes a lot of sense to me and it creates a more consistent "look" with that of the West side. The field would just shift West. Obviously this would be done when the turf was being replaced.
I think it was DG (AppMan) who was making the suggestion, but could be wrong.

Re: Premium seating opportunities...
Agree that if there's any stadium expansion, it should be premium seating. I'd like to see permanent bleachers in the fild house end zone, with some suites/boxes in there (similar to the pictures above). I was able to sit in a suite once, and while it was a cool opportunity and I'm glad I got to experience it, I wouldn't want to have my season tickets there. Felt too removed from the game, almost like a viewing party with about 10 other people.

If there are 100+ on the waiting list.... And they currently give an average of $2,000 per year and then pay $750 per seat per year.... If my math is correct we ought to be able to build some more...

I like the Loudermilk Center (Blue Zone seating) at UNC. Study center, lounges, weight room, meeting rooms for Olympic sports,Visitor locker rooms, Plus parking deck, eating and team apparel store.
I would think we would need and could sell 250 - 300 club seats.
