I sincerely thought you goathumpers had a chance this Saturday until I found out we were leapfrogged by NDSU and are still ranked #2. Now that 50pt win is looking more like reality than fantasy..

I never say "NEVER" but we haven't stopped a good running QB all year!!! This one could get ugly. Gotta get some turnovers!!!

Guys if ASU couldnt contain WC's slow QB, and was constantly confused on who had the pitch man on the outside, and let WC QB run wild, and had no answer for WC's motion back, how in the heck are they going to do it against a team that is much faster than WC. As much as I want ASU to win, so some people in my family who went there will be quiet. (They were very quiet when they were not doing well, now they have become annoying again), IMO i just dont see this edition of ASU football being able to do it, I hope im wrong. But reality is going to catch up with this defense again, and JM will figure out a way to slow the offense down if for some miracle ASU does get any kind of lead...Ill be there and I have never had any problems from thier fans....See you in the "Stink".

Did they throw a pass against Chattanooga Saturday? Maybe....but ZERO the previous week. I don't think Wofford rolled us. We defended their TO pretty well for most of the game. We lost that game because we didn't execute!

It's going to be a tough one Saturday, but I'm looking for the Apps to step up.
We throw as needed. In fact, one of ESPN's top ten plays this week was one of OUR pass plays against Chatty.
I think going into this game both teams are pretty banged up. Swope should be ready, Wilcox and Russell are banged up. I don't know their status yet, but if they are breathing, they'll play. Izzy Youyoute and Jerrick Mckinnon are a 1-2 punch at QB. Both have gotten progressively better this year and if 1 is struggling, expect to see the other. Kicking is an adventure for us and may very well cost us this game. We just can't seem to make a field goal whe we have to. As far as motivation, payback and winning the SoCon are the motivation this week, and the crowd will be electric. One thing about the matchup: App/GSU is just like the GA/FL game. You can throw rankings and records out the window because this will be a slobber knocker. GATA Eagles!!
That about sums it up. On paper, I give GSU the advantage, but as you said....you can throw rankings and records out the window. If App plays up to potential (which we haven't done much of this year), we can play with anyone in the FCS. Injuries are a problem, but both teams have plenty of athletes. GSU is an outstanding team but you've allowed several teams to hang awefully close this year....not always dominating. Neither team can stand the idea of losing to the other. This is what college footbal is all about!

For the record, I did know that GSU CAN throw when needed, but it's certainly not their first choice. Just my opinion, but I think that App has a great chance of winning this game if we can make you throw....mainly because it will mean you aren't moving it on the ground like you want. Of course, I've been wrong before. :)

Not sure what game you were watching, but App's D played reasonably well against Wofford for most of the game. I believe that Wofford was the #2 rushing team in the country and they played GSU even up until Breitenstein (sp) got hurt. Option offenses are about misdirection as much as speed and Wofford executes as well as anyone. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I'm not sure why an App fan would want to start whining BEFORE this game. I'll give up on this edition when it's in the book. I think they might have some surprises left in them.

Not too worried about the birdies...Unlike last week's rivalry wannabe game, this one is a true rivalry....

Overall series about even...multiple national and conference champions.....We dont like them, they dont like us.........we shall probably move to some FBS conference together......I love it!!!

The Tarholes beat a favored Wolfpecker team last week.

The birds can be declawed and we are the ones to do it.

gseagle,

I enjoyed the spirit that your man on camera has, don't understand how you can call us back woods and hillbilly people when ya'll talk like that lol. I have no problem with his smack talking. I still laugh when GSU people describe their stadium as "the prettiest little stadium in America". I know we are both biased but ASU is the most gorgeous Campus I have ever seen, hands down. It's going to be a battle this weekend, it always is. I just hope one day when our schools decide to make the jump to FBS we can maintain this rivalry.

They were paddling down "beautiful Eagle Creek."

If they hadn't been penetrated by inbred locals, they would have died of dysentery anyway.

Those unbred locals were closer related to Ya'll because if you watch the movie they were Hillbillie Rednecks (AppSt) not FlatLand Rednecks(GSU)
