Re: NEZ work today
This isnt surprising as logistics would be difficult to get all members that don’t have NEZ seating out in time.
Still somewhat disappointing as I grew up watching warmups from Owens, I loved those memories as a child.

Re: NEZ work today
Don’t follow why it would be hard to get folks out, just close the room 30 minutes before game time. I for one will be very disappointed if this space becomes a high end donors only facility. We need as many club members as possible, not just a few big donors.

Re: NEZ work today
You’ll need to have all non-NEZ club seat holders exit and then have them re-enter.
Otherwise how do you check ticket holders each game. Creates a lot of awkward interactions each game.
Unless there was a separate entrance and space for the clubroom, not sure they have space.

Re: NEZ work today
I would just have a club room that doesn’t have access to the seats....not that hard if they want to do it.

I believe you were behind the bar serving drinks on game days. Student Yosef Club? Ambassador?

Re: NEZ work today
I did to until I saw they had tweeted this tidbit out last monthcanes_mj wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 1:05 pmI had thought that there was going to be seating in that area. From the original renderings it looks like there are 2 tiers of seating (scroll down on that page from the link for the rendering on field level facing the North end zone). Guess it has been changed a little bit. I am eagerly awaiting the new Yosef club renderings. Regardless, it looks great so far.JPatH3292 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 9:32 amFound this new addition to the end zone construction page this morning.
“Within the next few months, structural columns will be added under the cantilevered stadium seating to provide additional support. Adding these supports now will enable the potential addition of an awning in the future, as well as a potential future expansion to the east and west sides of the stadium.”

Re: NEZ work today
Well, I was at a meeting in boone this weekend: the Yosef Club, "before game area", is 99% to be in Roess Dining Hall again next year. They said that is not the long term plan, and hope to have it in the NEZ, if it works out in the next couple years.

Re: NEZ work today
That’s a mistake, it’s not a real big deal to me, I rarely go to the room but I know a number of folks who didn’t like the set up last year. A bunch of folks lost tailgate spots last year. That said the club room will become more important than it has been in the past. They need a spot at the stadium for folks to gather in.GregPercussion wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 8:21 amWell, I was at a meeting in boone this weekend: the Yosef Club, "before game area", is 99% to be in Roess Dining Hall again next year. Re: NEZ work today
So in looking at the webcam today, it appears the columns or at least the framework for the columns are currently being constructed fairly quickly. Has anyone seen any renderings with the columns included or heard any further information about the field-level social area that the YC has teased? At first glance, it appears that the columns are going to be quite large and spaced fairly tightly, which makes me wonder about sightlines behind those or just where the plans/ideas for that area stand at the moment.
I know we're all facing a monster right now and that monster has stolen almost all of the countries enthusiasm for anything else, but I find myself looking for positive distractions anywhere I can find them...and thinking of Saturday's in the fall and looking at the new NEZ structure makes me happy

As in a need to change the order for the planned seating?AppState2009 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 2:08 pmHas anyone heard any chatter on the NEZ stadium seating having to be replaced?

As in removing the entire bleacher extending from the building, all of it. Bad or defective steel, not sure what that means.HkyMtneer wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 2:42 pmAs in a need to change the order for the planned seating?AppState2009 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 2:08 pmHas anyone heard any chatter on the NEZ stadium seating having to be replaced?

I hope you heard wrong as well. That being said, it wouldn’t make sense for them to put installing the columns underneath if they had to remove the seating.AppState2009 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 5:42 amAs in removing the entire bleacher extending from the building, all of it. Re: NEZ work today
This may explain the addition of the columns which have never been shown on any previous plans. I Would certainly hope that this was not a miscalculation of weight load by the engineers or architects or defective steel. If either case is true this is not good. I had not seen footers being pour for the columns recently so maybe they were poured originally and planned all along.

Well that would be quite a major development if true...where did you hear that?appstate24 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 6:46 amI hope you heard wrong as well. Not a fan of the support columns underneath the NEZ seats. Hope the finished product looks better.

Re: NEZ work today
Heard third hand from a vendor who is vested in the completion of the project...I would rather not say since there is nothing official at this point. This would push back the completion date into August. I am sure replacement of the seating would be #1 priority since half or so seats are sold. Hopefully, all the COVID-19 closures and delays will not push the date into the season. I would think we would all agree this would be considered an "essential" business if the state shuts downJPatH3292 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 1:51 pmWell that would be quite a major development if true...where did you hear that?appstate24 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 6:46 amI hope you heard wrong as well.
