Re: September 7, 2024
No idea what Clempsum has thus year but based on last years team I think we will be fairly evenly matched. That is as long as we play to our potential. I see a similar game to UNCx3, Penn St, TxAM, USC type game. All were close, some we got the W! It's been a while since we got curb stomped by a P5-P4.

Re: September 7, 2024
This could be total spin but the media is claiming that Klubnik is going to be a lot better and I would say that gives them a big edge, if true. He does have a lot of weapons so we will see.Yosefus wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 4:08 pmNo idea what Clempsum has thus year but based on last years team I think we will be fairly evenly matched. Re: September 7, 2024
We have faced better and won. Klubnik will have to come a long way to improve this season just to match where Aguilar was last year. I'm anxious to see how Joey can build on last years experience. Could be an exciting year with uh ton of possibilities and potential.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 8:29 pmThis could be total spin but the media is claiming that Klubnik is going to be a lot better and I would say that gives them a big edge, if true. I get that there is a lot of opinions on Klubnik, but thet have a really good RB in Maffah.

Re: September 7, 2024
We had Armanti for those games so our QB was better. All the other upsets the QB we faced was either a freshman or just plain bad. I think Joey is better based on 2023 but this is a whole new season and I want to see if the reports that Cade is looking like a 5-star are true. I am skeptical but we are lucky that they have Georgia the week before so we should know for sure if he is the same as 2023 or has improved.Yosefus wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 8:48 pmWe have faced better and won. Re: September 7, 2024
He looked impressive against Kentucky. They also have some raw talent at WR projected to start that we wanted badly out of HS along with 2 backup TEs they actually flipped from us. I feel like they could go 10-2 or 7-5 in the regular season, depending on their QB play. This is going to be an interesting game. I just hope we have some tricks up our sleeve.

If I am Dabo, I am running on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down until the opponent demonstrates they can stop it.
Man, I hope Dabo is not monitoring YC daily.

Klubnik, could be FAKE News?.......A Sugar High phase?AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 12:54 amWe had Armanti for those games so our QB was better. How we contain Maffah will decide the game, much like Hampton from UNC last year.

Re: September 7, 2024
For sure. You can’t come up with a gameplan to stop everything so you pick your poison. If the plan is to stop the run and make Klubnik and his young receivers beat you and they do, you tip your cap and move on. If you gameplan to stop the run and you don’t then that’s a whole different issue.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 7:53 amHow we contain Maffah will decide the game, much like Hampton from UNC last year.

Re: September 7, 2024
100%. Practicing against our defensive front all camp will be the closest thing to the pressure that Clemson applies that the OL will see all year.

Re: September 7, 2024
Hampton ran through wide open holes on the left side of our defense all game. That killed us. But that was not the only game where we left that same gap open. There were several games where we did the same mainly in the first half of the season. Hopefully our defense will be much better this year from start of season. If not it will cost us several games.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 7:53 amHow we contain Maffah will decide the game, much like Hampton from UNC last year.

Re: September 7, 2024
This is the key to me. Bring better at stopping the run. The Star defense takes an DL or LB out of the game ..but makes us quicker..
I re-watched the App. St./Cocks game last night. The number of times the DB or LBs were able to bend around the OL or TE on running plays was impressive all over again. We need that for Star type D to be successful
