He had big game potential but he did have a lot of drops. I believe he dropped a potential game winner earlier in the season. After watching some of the FCS games, there are definitely some better pass catchers out there. Only need one guy to stretch the field. But it’s not like our QBs have time for the downfield plays to develop anyways.

I love hearing DLo talk about writing contracts to make sure they stay. With what UGA is doing with the lawsuit against a transfer to recoup NIL, I think this is going to be the norm and only real way to slow down the portal

Contracts would be great and could be something that would make this tolerable. But everyone would have to buy in.

At this point, I’m thinking it’s an agent negotiating tactic.

Player/agent says “here’s what we want.” The school counters or says “no”

And the player then goes into the portal
to play the free agency game.

Dowell did say, I believe in the signing day podcast, that they were looking at dual-threat QBs.

In the same vein, bringing in two portal QBs, neither really working out and both re-hitting the portal a year later was a bit of a failure by Dowell.
