If they do a good enough impression of us they might actually win.

EVERYONE HOLD UP

I guess somewhere along the way everyone just began to assume that because the fans should be wearing white that the players will be wearing white as well. I've read nothing that states that the players will be wearing White.

Even during Penn State's "white out" games, they still wear the blue uniforms.

I believe the main reason for doing the white out is because the players want to wear all white.

Me either. I have been talking about the fans. Maybe the players will be wearing white. It would be strange though.

Their fans don't seem to think ODU stands a chance against us...It feels great to see others from other schools use words that describe App State as a damn good football team. Most App State comments are Page 1 & 2. Enjoy.

I have worn black to every app game I've attended since the "Black Saturday" theme was popularized. My first reaction was to ignore the white-out request, but I'm thinking that I will probably wear one of my white T-shirts now. This issue is not worth causing a division in the App family. As much as I would like to believe that I'm the center of things, it really is about the student athletes. It is their team, and I am a fan...regardless.

Y'all are STILL talking about this 246 posts later? Man it's funny (sad) that one of the most posted about topics on this site is about grown men complaining about which color shirt they're going to wear to a football game. (Btw Black Saturday is one Saturday, not the whole damn year)

There are 52 Saturdays in a year, and all 52 are Black Saturday.

Now, for the good of the program, I'm willing to start with white, but if we get behind, I'll have my black shirt at the ready.

Then start a topic about something different.

I think it's funny (sad) that some people feel the need to try to dictate what others should want to talk about.

And EVERY Saturday is Black Saturday.

I'm not as strongly opposed to wearing white one game, but Black Saturday was every home game in the 80's, a really neat tradition that we were about 20 years early on compared to other schools doing black outs.

I'll wear white for one game if that's what the players want. Just win the game and we'll call it even.

Didn't David Jackson spearhead an effort to bring it back? - The first year it was every Saturday and then I believe it went to one Saturday ---

Maybe we are all missing the boat... Maybe the white out is for the reintroduction of the White block A...

Maybe...? One can hope????

I must say though, the black block A has grown on me.

Common problem and trend from Yosef10. I don't think a message board with all walks of App State fans with different opinions is the right place for him/her

Thank God we care about App State Football. We wouldn't be FBS if we didn't care.

We hate Georgia Southern, but you bet your bottom dollar they would care if their players asked their fans to wear black.

I just don't believe that something that is meant to be fan engagement warrants such an outcry. This whole notion of we only wear black on Saturday isn't real. I see plenty of white and gold in the stands each Saturday. I've seen other jersey colors wore at home other than black.

Fan engagement requires that the fans be engaged, not enraged. I don't think they meant to do it, but this promotion alienates as many fans as it engages.

I know quite a few here are very upset about it but is it really worth all the angst? Does it really alienate fansor is this just another aggravation of the changing face of college athletics? Will they stop coming to games because one game the players want a white out? I dislike immensely the constant uniform changes but in the end I'm going with the flow. Players like it and after all it's the product on the field I come to see. I might hazard a guess than many who are upset also decried our leaving the SoCon? Have opinions folks and respect those of others.

I don't think it's going to make anyone stop going. And I think everyone knows it's going to happen regardless of what they think. I've said I'm not a fan of it, but I'll still be there yelling for the Apps. My main point was that there are people who don't like it and they are just as entitled to have, and express that opinion as those who do like it. Nobody has the right to tell someone else what they have to like.
