Re: App at Ga Southern Game Day Thread Dec 12 2020
Watched the game again today. Let’s start with this, GS players talking trash to guys praying before the game was probably the most low rent classless thing I’ve ever seen in sports. As for the game I’m happy for the win but it’s not one I can really get excited about. I know it’s a rivalry game and that changes thing but we Just squeaked by a middle of the pack Sun Belt team who had to go with their 3rd string QB for the entire 2nd half. We performed poorly again after turnovers and in the red zone. And we simply can’t run the ball when we really need to. A lot of our poor performance on offense has been put on Zac and or Peterson. I’m going another direction, our O line has performed really poorly this year. I’m an old O lineman myself so I’m the very first to praise those guys, but they haven’t been good this year. This group has been awesome in the past but something just didn’t work this year. Our backs are consistently getting contacted before they even make the line of scrimmage. I would hate to see the number of running plays we had this year that went for no gain or a loss of yardage. 3 sacs in the first half of this game alone and don’t get me going on the false starts and holding penalties. I love those guys and like I said they have been awesome, but not in 2020.

Agree on the O-line play. For whatever reason they underachieved all season.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 8:50 pmWatched the game again today. The oline appeared to struggle in pass blocking, in particular. That could have been technique, scheme, bad protection calls...who knows. In the run game, it seemed our backs frequently ran right into the back of an olineman quite often. Again, is that scheme/play calling, or backs not being patient and waiting for the hole to open? I don’t know, but it happened too often.
Give 'em hell!
