I would like to keep everyone that’s isnt going with Satt but it’s not my call. Wherever they land I think they will be successful.I will not be second guessing , pi$$ing and moaning about it.

Eli wants more than just “App guys”. He wants experienced guys with histories of success that can come here and help take this team to new heights. He knows our culture will thrive as long as we keep winning and embrace the legacy that has gotten us here. But to get to the next level, he needs guys with the experience to get us there. He is building a great staff from the few names I have heard (no, I do not know the DC, my anxiety is just as bad as yours).

Another note, Eli was not a “last resort” hire because we couldn’t land others on the list. While he was “late to the party”, he definitely was a guy on DG’s radar, I just don’t know if DG thought we could get him. I wish I could elaborate more, I just want everyone to know how special a hire I am starting to realize this is.

I will say this much. Ivey leaving may be the best thing that has happened to us in the long term. That dude is a helluva coach and bleeds Black & Gold. It wouldn't surprise me if he takes this gut punch as an opportunity to spread his coaching wings, get some more experience and come back one day as the next DC or even HC.

As much as I like Ivey, and all the App staff, maybe drink takes us higher than we have ever been, and when he leaves, leaves us in a place where we can get someone even more successful than Ivey can be

That would be a good problem to have. And I am not making a case for Ivey to become the target of our next coaching search. I hope that we don't have to go through this again for awhile. But success breeds these issues. My point is that if and when this job comes open again, he will be a stronger candidate for having the P5 experience. That's it.

Yeah if you say anything semi positive over there about the coaching hires you get about 5 dudes who quote you and nit pick the hell out of you and explain that you just don’t know what the App culture is and how much we’ll miss it

I go there for starting lineups mostly. I post there sometimes and like a few posters there, mainly the admin, Saint3333 and moehler. I will say I’ve had comments of mine deleted that were less offensive than many I’ve made on here, so there’s that.

I do think our DC has been hired and they are just playing this game. DJ has already been retained and usually the DC has a say for the defensive assistants hired. It’s like the 12 days of Christmas, but only 8 days or so.

The ASM dude seems like a nice enough guy, i just think his, and others on there, bias towards the guys he knows is dictating how conversation over there is going.
