I agree with WVAppeer. I think their new uniforms get introduced at home. I almost hope they DO wear black because the crowd reaction would be over the top and the team would probably feed off of that.

Re: Athletics announced White Out for Old Dominion
I have a question - seems simple enough. If we have a visitor come in and we announce our color of choice for the game is white, what color would you all expect ODU to wear? Do I like they are wearing black? No. Do I think they are sticking up their middle finger and spitting on our program? No. It's just common sense. They aren't going to wear their whites if we do. If they can't wear whites, why not wear an alternate?

Congrats. You made the paper T-Dog. And you might be the reason they decide to wear black. Feeling good I bet.

I haven't posted a thing about all this since day one and personally I'm sick of the whole thing. People are dying and thousands have lost EVERYTHING in earthquakes, wildfires, and catastrophe flooding. And what are some losing their minds over? The color of a stupid shirt. The is not Life and Death. And I bet if you ask those who have nothing they would be happy to have a shirt, no matter what the hell the color is.
We have people in our little community who are battling cancer and other health issues. Wonder if they care about what fans are going to wear? In 16 days this will be over with. But their battle will continue. What is more important? I'll let those that have a conscience decide that one. Me, I've got my own battle I'm facing and believe me the color of a uniform or a shirt is pretty damn low on the list right now.

It's "if I were them" T-Dog. Subjunctive form, bro.

T-Dog Jerry Moores departure didnt divide the fan base for long and this is not even a pimple on your butt to fret about.

I hope the ODU readers of that paper don't go hunting for T-Dogs Twitter. I'd rather not have the cookiness of his Twitter timeline (or this thread for that matter) represent our fanbase. You would think he just lost a loved one. I promise KBS will still be standing the day after App wears white uniforms inside of it.

Kookiness* although he does tweet about food sometimes. On a serious note, do you really think it will be "filled" with white? It's gonna be a "white-speckling" moreso than a "white-out".Yosef10 wrote:I hope the ODU readers of that paper don't go hunting for T-Dogs Twitter. Thanks for the spellcheck Microsoft, but I was specifically referring to his last 7 tweets or so. Also, edited the last post to avoid this game of semantics with you.Appftw wrote:Kookiness* although he does tweet about food sometimes. I was genuinely curious about how you thought it would go over with our fan base, but suit yourself. I find it interesting that you didn't fix the fact that you're calling him a "cook". That's kind of kooky if you ask me.Yosef10 wrote:Thanks for the spellcheck Microsoft, but I was specifically referring to his last 7 tweets or so. Re: Athletics announced White Out for Old Dominion
That just made me smile, the good showing against Tennessee thing, not the blow out thing. What IF App were to beat Tennessee. What kind of crowd might head up the mountain for the ODU game even with Miami looming on the horizon. I ask because I was at the game against Lenoir Rhyne in 2007 the week after the little game in Ann Arbor and KBS was pretty wild. Damn, we might average close to 30,000 a game if the unthinkable were to happen in Knoxville./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:A good showing against Tennessee will boost the numbers. I'm mad this promotion was approved, I'm mad they got permission from ODU to wear white, I'm mad the athletics office got the players involved and made it a "if you're against the whiteout, you're against the players" argument, I'm mad that when season ticket holders got a discount code for whiteout apparel, the selection was and still is farcical. And overall, I'm most mad that in a time when there's a lot to be excited about and unite the fanbase behind a great team, they did something to divide the fanbase.![]()
Joking aside I took a look at the available seats yesterday and it's sad. large swaths of seats available throughout the stadium. some sections nearly unsold. The ticket promotion is good, but at this point I think we have to have fingers crossed for excellent weather and the walk up crowd.

Re: Athletics announced White Out for Old Dominion
- The whiteout was, and remains, a bad idea. ODU wearing black just underscores that, but that's our fault, not theirs.
- That said, for an afternoon kickoff in early September, it might actually be to our benefit to wear the lighter jerseys (even in Boone).
- I am surprised people are still getting this worked up over it. If our admin hasn't gotten the message by now that a lot of fans don't like this idea, nothing we post here or on Twitter will change that.
- Who knew we had to ask the visitor for permission to wear whatever color we want in a home game?
- It appears that, barring an upset win over UT, attendance for this game will be very poor.

Re: Athletics announced White Out for Old Dominion
How is a whiteout in college athletics a bad idea? Because a cluster on the Internet message boards say so? I don't get why the possibility of ODU wearing black is such a slap in the face to some of you. I've seen us wear colors other than black at home. It's a non-issue. This is a "controversy" made up by people who just simply don't want to do anything "new". And it's not even new. Is the Rock strictly blacked out every Saturday? No. Not even close. If anything, this is bringing revenue to the university and/or small businesses in Boone. So many people on here claim they don't have white shirts, just think of the revenue raised if all of you bought a white shirt. Keep it Local.Yosef10 wrote:EastHallApp wrote:- The whiteout was, and remains, a bad idea. ODU wearing black just underscores that, but that's our fault, not theirs.

Just my opinion. No point rehashing the reasons; that horse was dead months ago.Yosef10 wrote:How is the whiteout a bad idea? Because a cluster in the Internet message boards say so? I do think having a visiting team wear our color on our home field is a particularly bad look. If you're fine with it, you're certainly entitled to that view.
And I'm not opposed to everything new. I loved the gold unis. I even liked the idea of Stripe the Stadium, although it didn't work out in practice. Just think the whiteout is a bad fit for App.

Accidentally hit submit, full response above. Definitely not directed solely at you. Just simply baffled at how big of a deal this became to some. I wasn't a fan of stripe the stadium unless App provides the shirts, same for whiteout really. But I don't think the idea of the whiteout in itself is a bad idea.EastHallApp wrote:Just my opinion. Fully aware of that. But when a paper identifies him as a booster, it makes it sound like Thomas is throwing lots of cash at the program. I have no idea if he's throwing any at the program but I highly doubt the paper called him and asked him.AppStateNews wrote:Anybody that gives to Yosef club is considered a booster...Yosef wrote:Is T-dog really considered a booster?
