I don’t understand why people are concerned or want this done right away. Signing day is over. It is the holiday season. Players aren’t even on campus so whether someone is hired today or Jan 10, there isn’t much difference. If this stretches into late Jan then yea I’m very concerned but right now I am not.

If there had been a quick hire, that would have been criticized by some. We all want to see a home-run hire right away and it hasn't been announced yet, so some are uncomfortable. I want to see it too, but as long as we get a good hire, I'm willing to wait. I would rather get the right coaches.

I'm actually more concerned about replacing Dale's skills as a LB coach than I am DC. That's just me though. Not saying DC isn't important...it obviously is. Just saying he has been a lights out LB coach for his entire time at App.

It would not surprise me if Shawn has already decided and just getting contract finalized before any word leaks out. I can see Shawn keeping a tight lid on it until the coach is in Boone.

The status of hires has been sealed and the key thrown away. Clark is playing this all close to the vest.

Jones leaving I believe hurts more than it helps. Thought he did a great job previous 2 years & between injuries and less talent, was handicapped with what he could do this year. Time will tell though.

Not sure how I noticed this, but this morning I saw that Coach Debastiani has changed his Twitter profile to read “Defensive Coach.” I could be wrong, but I believe it used to say “Outside Linebackers Coach.”

If true, this leads me to believe there will be some shuffling around, possibly to accommodate the new DC. Hopefully, we will be getting some info soon on the rest of the defensive staff.
